Meetings

¯ Grandview Township will hold 2021 regular meetings at 6 p.m. the first Monday of each month at the township hall. The following months will be held on different dates: July 6, and Sept. 13. These meetings will also be held at 6 p.m.

¯ Decatur Township will hold its monthly public meetings on the second Tuesday of each month at the township building on Welch Road in Cutler.

Events

¯ The Board of Directors for the Southeastern Ohio Port Authority will meet at 7:30 a.m. today. This meeting is open via conference call or in-person attendance in the Oak Room, Building 1 in Broughton Complex #1, located at 639 SR 821, Marietta. ¯ Beverly American Legion Post 389 on 5th Street will host an all-you-can-eat fish fry from 5-7 p.m. Friday. The meal costs $9 and includes fries and coleslaw. Music to follow from 7-10 p.m. by Sam Clark. Public welcome.

¯ The Castle Historic House Museum will present a virtual audience with Queen Victoria from noon to 1:15 p.m. Saturday during a Virtual Victorian Tea. The event will be presented via Zoom and the cost is $10. For more information and to register, visit mariettacastle.org/virtual-history-camp.

¯ The Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church on Stanleyville Road in Whipple will host its annual Italian Feast from 4-7 p.m. Saturday. The meal will be curbside pick-up and include spaghetti, rigatoni, fettuccine, salad, and dessert. To order in advance, call 740-473-2792. Ordering ahead is not mandatory.

¯ Beverly American Legion Post 389 will host a public steak fry from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at the Post Home 114, Fifth St., Beverly. The cost is $15 and includes steak, a baked potato, salad and a roll.

¯ Knights of Columbus 4617 in Churchtown will hold a Cornhole Tournament Sunday. Registration begins at 11 a.m. and tournament begins at noon inside the gym located at 17472 SR 676, Marietta. Cost is $20/team (bring your own partner). Pay out is 80% of entry (first and second). Event includes a concession stand and 50/50. ¯ First Congregational Church United Church of Christ (318 Front St. in Marietta) will continue its weekly free breakfast as take-out from 8:30-10 a.m. each Saturday. All are welcome.

¯ Fearing Township Vol. Fire Dept. will hold its annual March dinner at 4 p.m. March 20. Menu includes chicken or baked steak with mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, bread and dessert. Coffee and tea are included. Adult plate costs $8 and child’s plate costs $4. Drive-thru or limited socially distanced seating. ¯ The Sardis Vol. Fire Dept. will sponsor its annual fish fry from 4-7 p.m. each Friday through April 2 at the Sardis Fire Hall on State Route 255. The menu includes coleman fish sandwiches and fish sandwich dinners with a choice of fries, coleslaw, baked beans, and mac & cheese. Take-out and limited delivery available; no dine-in. ¯ St. Mary Catholic School will host a Lenten Drive-thru Fish Fry from 5-7 p.m. every Friday through March 26. The meal includes fried fish, french fries, green beans and coleslaw. The cost per meal is $10. No call ahead orders; drive-thru service only. Enter through Marion or Montgomery alley entrances.

Classes/Workshops/Programs/Seminars

¯ The Marietta Family YMCA will host the Spring/Summer 5K Virtual Series between March and May. Events include Spring Forward Run, March 6-12; Hop To It Race, April 10-16; and Stronger Together Run, May 15-21. For more information and registration, visit mariettaymca.org.

¯ AARP Tax-Aide is offering free tax return preparation for all taxpayers on Mondays and Thursdays through April 12. There will be no walk-ins and masks are required due to COVID-19. Taxpayers should bring all tax documents and a copy of last year’s tax returns, plus a photo ID and Social Security cards for all family members. ¯ The Annual Financial Report for Muskingum Township for the fiscal year 2020 has been completed and is available for public inspection. An appointment can be made by calling 740-373-0189.

¯ The 2020 Financial Report for Warren Township, Washington County, Ohio has been filed with the Auditor of State’s office. The financial report is on file at the Warren Township Administration office for public inspection. For an appointment to review the financial report, call the administration office at 740-374-9970.

¯ Ludlow Township has completed the financial report for 2020 and it has been submitted to the Auditor of The State of Ohio. A copy is on file at the office of Ludlow Township.

¯ The Annual Auditor of State Financial report for 2020 for the Village of Lower Salem is complete and available at the clerk-treasurer’s home. For more information, call Janet Kidd at 740-585-2547.
