Low-cost vet clinic at Tractor Supply

Low-cost veterinarian clinics are coming early January to the Marietta Tractor Supply Company store. Located at 100 Cherry Tree Lane, the business will host contracted veterinarians to perform services on puppies and kitties as well as an adopt-a-thon partnering with the Humane Society of the Mid-Ohio Valley.

Mandy Clark, Assistant Manager of Tractor Supply Co., said that her store has hosted clinics for the past two years. “We look forward to these and enjoy partnering up with the Humane Society for them to be here and bring some of their adoptable pets to the public,” she shared.

Jan. 9 kicks off the series of monthly PetVet clinics, all taking place from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. in which pet owners can have a series of vaccinations, diagnostic tests, microchipping, and prescription parasite prevention performed on their furry friends. No appointments are needed although pets should be in good general health.

“We also ask that cats be brought in by carrier,” said Paige Mazzoni, Chief Marketing Officer of VIP Petcare- the company that hosts these PetVet clinics within communities across the country.

Mazzoni shared that the company holds the clinics in convenient locations, at TSC’s across the country, to provide wellness services in an easy and affordable manner.

“We offer them to make pet wellness and preventative veterinary care accessible to the larger number of pets and pet owners possible,” she explained.

Tractor Supply Co.’s location is the only one within a 25-mile radius to provide the clinics, with the following dates of availability: Jan. 9, Feb. 6, Mar. 5, and Apr 2. Clark noted that the HSOV has a huge part in the success of the event.

“The Humane Society really helps spread the word about the clinics. We host but they share the information,” she said.

HSOV Director Kelly Goedel appreciates the ability to be included in this promotion.

“Tractor Supply lets us know when they have a PetVet Clinic coming, and we post the information on our website and all social media accounts. If we know they’re having one, we will schedule a mini adopt-a-thon. It’s a wonderful resource for the community, because it really helps with our mission in that they can offer reduced rate services,” Goedel said.

The fact that these services are offered to the community at large at a discount also helps to defer the cost from organizations like HSOV, which perform needed vaccinations as animals come into the shelter.

Veterinarians providing these services are contracted and not always put at the same location, but according to VIP Petcare, they are all licensed and aptly available for answering questions of pet owners on-site.

Procedures include individual vaccinations for puppies and kittens, vaccination “packs” based on age of the animal, rabies and heartworm testing, microchipping, tape and roundworm deworming, and parvo/distemper titer testing. Health certificate issuing and rabies FAVN titer testing are also both available if called for in advance.

Starting at $2.99/week.
