The Ohio State University Extension of Washington County is pleased to announce the winners of the first annual 4-H College Scholarship Awards. Each applicant must be a high school senior or college freshman who have been a 4-H member for at least three years.
Applications were judged by an out-of-county, unbiased committee and recommendations presented to the Washington County 4-H Advisory Committee who then selected and awarded the winners. Funding for the scholarship awards was provided by the Washington County 4-H Endowment Committee through funds housed at Marietta Community Foundation.
Two winners receiving $500 scholarships are:
¯ Sierra Sinclair, daughter of Dean and Beth Sinclair of Vincent and a member of the Honeysuckle Hills 4-H Club. Sierra is a senior at Warren High School and plans to attend Marietta College seeking a degree in Middle School Education.
¯ Caroline Stollar, daughter of Vince and Shelly Stollar of Marietta and a former member of the Washington County Carteens 4-H Club. Caroline graduated from Warren High School and is attending The Ohio State University looking forward to a degree in Public Management, Leadership and Policy.
Four winners receiving $250 scholarships are:
¯ Elizabeth Burdiss, daughter of Clay and Angela Burdiss of Vincent and a member of the Honeysuckle Hills 4-H Club. Elizabeth is a senior at Warren High School and plans to attend Marietta College seeking a degree in Environmental Science.
¯ Tyler Hartline, son of Jeff and Kathryn Hartline of Marietta and a former member of the Backyard Gang 4-H Club. Tyler is attending Marietta College and looking forward to a degree in Music Education and Vocal Performance.
¯ Lindsey Hartline, daughter of Gale and Christina Hartline of Marietta and a member of Lynch Combined 4-H Club. Lindsey is a senior at Marietta High School and is attending Washington State Community College seeking a degree in Occupational Therapy.
¯ Leeann Trippett, daughter of Connie Trippett of Cutler and a former member of the Trailblazers 4-H Club. Leeann is a senior at Waterford High School and is attending The Ohio State University-ATI seeking a degree in Agriscience Education.
