¯ An officer began an investigation Nov. 4 into the report of theft of water at 225 ¢ Sheldon Ave.
¯ A patrolman was dispatched Nov. 4 to 233 Broughton Ave. in reference to a theft of water. It was learned someone had turned on the water on the meter without permission. This case remains under investigation.
¯ Officers responded Nov. 4 to the 600 block of Fifth Street in regards to a disturbance in a vehicle. One of the occupants was identified as Chase Dominick West, who had an active warrant out of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office for littering and trespass. He was arrested and transported to the jail. He was also charged with obstruction of justice for providing false information to officers. It was found that West was providing alcohol and having sex with a 16-year-old girl. He was charged with contributing to the unruliness/delinquency of a child.
¯ A patrolman responded Nov. 5 to 125 Ward St. in reference to a stolen 2004 red Dodge Caravan. The patrolman spoke with the victim and initiated a stolen vehicle report. The vehicle was taken in the early morning hours of Nov. 5 and was recovered abandoned in Charleston, W.Va. The case is still under investigation.
¯ A unit was dispatched Nov. 5 to 127 Ward St. in reference to a theft. It was learned someone had used a debit card at Walmart without permission. This case is under investigation.
¯ A patrolman was dispatched Nov. 5 to CVS Pharmacy, 131 N. Third St., about a purse being stolen from a car in a smash and grab while the vehicle was parked in the parking lot.
¯ Officers met with a complainant on station Nov. 6 in reference to her vehicle being broken into at Marietta Memorial Hospital. A purse, wallet and backpack were taken. The complainant declined an investigation into the matter and requested the incident be logged.
¯ Officers were patrolling in the 100 block of Knox Street on Nov. 6. One of the officers observed a man known to him, Eric Todd Kendall. It was learned that Kendall had an active warrant for his arrest through Monroe County for trespassing. After taking Kendall into custody on the warrant, a small amount of suspected methamphetamine was located in a cigarette pack in his coat pocket. The item was seized and will be sent to BCI for chemical testing. He was transported to the Washington County Jail to await extradition to Monroe County,
¯ A patrolman met Nov. 6 with Charquequa Sara Frye regarding the attempted theft of a catalytic converter from her Prius. This occurred between the hours of 1 a.m. and 9 a.m. Nov. 6 in the alleyway behind the 1100 block of Greene Street.
¯ An officer spoke with Jake Nixon on Nov. 6 regarding damage to his vehicles. An SUV belonging to his son, a truck belonging to him, and an SUV belonging to him have been damaged by what he believes is a subject who mows grass for a neighborhood business.
¯ An officer was dispatched Nov. 6 to Speedway, 100 N. Seventh St., in reference to a man who had used the victim’s ID to cash a third party check.
¯ A patrolman was dispatched Nov. 6 to 749 Glendale Road in reference to Robert Huffman on the property and refusing to leave. Units arrived and were informed by dispatch that Huffman had previously trespassed on the property. He was charged with criminal trespassing and transported to jail.
¯ A patrolman responded Nov. 7 to Walmart, 804 Pike St., in reference to a theft. Walmart loss prevention made contact with a man who switched price tags on multiple items and went through the self checkout register. The man will be issued a summons for theft. The amount of merchandise he attempted to steal was about $470.
¯ An officer was dispatched Nov. 7 to Spring Street in reference to a domestic violence complaint that happened at 308 Harmar St. Juan Manuel Salazar was later arrested for domestic violence.
¯ A patrolman responded Nov. 7 to Walmart in reference to a woman shoplifter. Upon arrival and after investigation, it was determined that she failed to scan $87.51 worth of items in her cart and passed the last point of sale. A summons will be requested for her to appear for the charge of theft.
¯ An officer investigated a shoplifting complaint Nov. 7 at Walmart, 804 Pike St. About $90 worth of items were unboxed and concealed. A summons will be requested.
¯ A patrolman was dispatched Sunday to 132 Franklin St. in reference to a burglary complaint. John Douglas Pugh was arrested after being chased by the residents back to his home. He allegedly broke into the victim’s home and subsequently fell out of the attic.
¯ A patrolman recovered an abandoned purple mountain bike Monday in the 200 block of Muskingum Drive.
¯ An officer was dispatched Monday to 308 Harmar St. in reference to a violation of a protection order. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim, who showed a call log from Juan Salazar while at the Washington County Jail. The phone call recording was recovered and charges were completed against Juan Salazar for violation of protection order.
¯ Units responded Monday to 288 Ridgewood Court in reference to a verbal argument between juveniles. During the course of the investigation, one of the juveniles produced a glass smoking pipe, which she advised was found nearby in the park. The item was seized and logged for destruction.
¯ Units responded Monday to a report of property damage at 327 North Seventh St. It was determined a passing large vehicle had struck hanging overhead lines, causing damage to the electric meter, lines and downspout connected to the home.
