The court case out of the Marietta-Logan maskless tasering incident from September has been delayed.
The trial of Alecia D. Kitts, 34, of 140 1/2 Clinton St., Marietta, was scheduled to begin today.
A clerk of the Hocking County Municipal Court explained to the Times on Thursday that the trial has been continued to an undetermined future date, though no entry in the courts' public record ascribes the change past the entry to continue filed on Jan. 19.
Kitts faces two misdemeanor charges, criminal trespass and resisting arrest, following her arrest in September in Logan after allegedly refusing to comply with the officials' enforcement of state mask mandates at school events.
Videos of Kitts' removal went viral in September, drawing international eyes to Southeast Ohio.
According to court documents Kitts is represented by a constitutional rights lawyer based out of Columbus.
The clerk of the court noted that with the recusal of the initial trial court judge in November, the case will now be overseen by Sitting Judge Michael T. Brandt.
