¯ A patrolman responded to the Marietta Memorial Hospital on Feb. 2 in reference to Shawn Eugene Covey causing a disturbance. The investigation revealed Covey had become irate, threw a TV remote at one of the nurses and yelled profanities at the medical staff for approximately 15 minutes. He was ultimately arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, a fourth-degree misdemeanor as it occurred in the emergency room in front of medical staff.

¯ Officers were dispatched Feb. 2 to a dead on arrival at a residence on Mission Road in the city. A 77-year-old female was deemed to have died of apparent natural causes.

¯ A patrolman spoke with staff at 800 Pike St., Physicians Care, Feb. 3 regarding the theft of a propane heater that occurred in the early morning hours.

¯ An officer responded to L&P Services, 207 Colegate Drive, in reference to a disturbance. As a result, a man is being issued a summons for criminal damaging to a car on the lot.

¯ A patrolman investigated the report Thursday of a woman shoplifting a necklace at Walmart. The suspect fled prior to the officer’s arrival.

¯ A patrolman responded Thursday to Bridgeport Equipment, 15 Acme St., in reference to a theft of a Litezall tactical brand headlight. A suspect has been identified and charges are being filed.

¯ An officer was dispatched Thursday to 270 Muskingum Drive in reference to a possible dead on arrival. A 70-year-old man was found deceased in the residence. The investigation is ongoing.

¯ A patrolman was dispatched Friday to the station in reference to a theft of medication taken from his residence by one of three women that accompanied him home from a bar.

¯ An officer was dispatched Friday to 176 Dawes Circle in reference to a domestic dispute between siblings. Upon arrival and through the investigation, Travis Wriston was arrested for domestic violence by threat.

¯ An officer went to 128 Franklin St. on Friday for a domestic complaint. Upon arrival and through investigation, it was learned the son, John Douglas Pugh, had threatened the life of his father. Pugh was arrested for domestic violence by threat.

¯ Officers investigated a disorderly fight complaint Friday at 623 Ninth St. After speaking with the reporting party, a refusal of investigation was signed.

¯ Units were dispatched Saturday to the 100 block of Gross Street in reference to a man chasing an adult and his child. Upon arrival, a patrolman followed a man who matched the description given by the caller. The patrolman followed the man who began fleeing on a bicycle and eventually on foot in the woods behind the Giant Eagle. The officer apprehended the man, who was identified as Michael Edward Grayson. He was found to have an active warrant and was taken to the Washington County Jail. There will be additional charges once drug results return from items seized that were discarded during the foot chase.

¯ A patrolman was dispatched to the Super 8 Motel on Sunday in reference to a guest returning after being removed by law enforcement earlier in the day. After an investigation, Uriah Hill was arrested for criminal trespass.

¯ An officer was dispatched to a Pennsylvania Avenue residence Sunday for a welfare check on a man who hadn’t been seen in several days. After gaining entry into the house, the 63-year-old man was found deceased of apparent natural causes.

¯ A patrolman investigated a dog biting another dog Monday. The attacking dog got away from its owner and attacked. Mary Hoffman was cited for animal at large.

¯ The Marietta Police Department also started two separate investigations of sexual assault this week.

Reports/Washington County

¯ A black and white dog belonging to Sarah Lightner of 1574 Elizabeth St., Apt. A, Belpre, ran onto another’s property Feb. 1. Lightner’s dog was loose and was without supervision and neighboring security cameras showed the dog on the property. A sergeant responded and was able to verify the dog through the window was the same as the dog on the video. Lightner admitted to her dog being loose the previous day. A summons is being requested for Sarah Marie Lightner, 38, for failing to restrain a dog.

¯ A deputy recovered suspected drug paraphernalia found by a resident on Thursday. This case will be marked closed.

¯ A deputy conducted an investigation Thursday into a theft/scam involving more than $8,000. This case remains under investigation.

¯ A sergeant began an investigation Thursday into a 2016 RZR 1000XP stolen from Gerald Smith of 6200 Federal Road, Cutler. This case remains under investigation.

¯ A sergeant responded Friday to the Duke & Duchess, 100 Main St., Lowell, to a shoplifting complaint. Video surveillance was observed, showing a man and woman in the store who appeared to have placed consumable goods into their pockets and left the store without paying for said items. The woman was observed on video having placed Hot Hands packs in her pocket and also failing to pay for them.

The subjects were identified as Justin Brian Hines, 24, homeless, and Crystal Lynn Williams, 32, homeless. Arrest warrants were requested and issued on a charge of theft.

¯ A sergeant became aware Feb. 2 that Kayla Davis had two dogs run loose from her property at 945 Windy Ridge Road, Vincent. These dogs were without restraint and/or supervision. The dogs went onto another neighbor’s property and the German Shepherd attacked the neighbor’s dog, which was restrained by an electric fence.

The neighbor’s dog suffered a significant laceration, which required medical attention. Davis admitted her dogs were loose on this date, and that her dogs go off of her property on a regular basis, however she didn’t think it was a problem. Davis was informed what happened and advised she would receive a summons for failing to restrain her dog. She was informed to keep her dogs restrained on her property. A summons is being requested for Davis, 30, for failing to restrain her dogs.

¯ A deputy was dispatched Friday to 151 Hollywood Drive, Belpre, in reference to Tara Jenkins reporting Robert Wingrove had taken her belongings. Jenkins was observed walking, with her vehicle parked in a parking lot along the roadway. Wingrove drove past Jenkins in what was observed to be an attempt to evade contact with law enforcement. A traffic stop was conducted on Wingrove, who advised he was going to pick up Jenkins and take her to Chesterhill.

Wingrove stated he had clothing and other items which belonged to Jenkins inside the vehicle, and they became involved in an argument at the residence where Jenkins threw things at him. Wingrove was advised to drive the vehicle to the parking lot Jenkins was walking from. Wingrove drove to that lot, and was out of the vehicle arguing with Jenkins before the deputy could arrive. Jenkins also admitted to a verbal argument with Wingrove over personal items. Deputies have been called numerous times in reference to incidents with Wingrove and Jenkins. A summons is being requested for Tara Renee Jenkins, 43, of 7535 Marion St., Chesterhill, and Robert Scott Wingrove, 56, of 155 Wingrove Drive, Little Hocking, on a charge of disorderly conduct.
