The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways and county roads within Washington County.
All outlined work is weather permitting.
Jurisdictions include Marietta City, Washington County Engineer and Ohio Department of Transportation offices.
¯ Marietta signal/fiber optic upgrades: A traffic signal and fiber optic system project is scheduled to begin on March 29 at various intersections in Marietta, including Putnam, Front, Third, Seventh, Greene, Pike, and Acme streets.
According to ODOT, periodic short-term daily lane closures will be in place. The estimated completion date is projected for June 30.
¯ The Cornerville Bridge, located in Marietta Township on County Road 20, Sandhill Road, will be closed by the Washington County Engineers Office on Monday for approximately five months for a bridge replacement.
There will be no through traffic. Please call the Washington County Engineer's Office at 740-376-7430 with any questions.
¯ Ohio 60 landslide: One lane of Ohio 60 is closed 1.5 miles south of Lowell due to a landslide. Temporary traffic signals and a 12-foot width restriction are in place. The estimated completion date is projected for June 30.
¯ Ohio 821 landslide: One lane of Ohio 821 is closed between Buells Run (Township Road 86) and Peaker Run (Township Road 327) due to a landslide.
Temporary traffic signals and an 11-foot width restriction are in place. The estimated completion date is projected for July 1.
¯ Ohio 555 bridge replacement: One lane of Ohio 555 is closed between Barton Road (Township Road 714) and Ohio 676 for a bridge replacement project.
Temporary traffic signals and an 11-foot width restriction are in place. The estimated completion date is projected for Nov. 1.
Surrounding counties
In Noble County, the Ohio Department of Transportation has also announced the following projects, weather permitting:
¯ Ohio 147 tree trimming: A tree trimming project is taking place on State Route 147, between State Route 146 and State Route 566.
This section is closed from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., Monday through Friday. The estimated completion date is projected for April 1.
¯ Ohio 147 culvert replacement: A culvert replacement project begins on April 2 on State Route 147, between Reed Road (Township Road 150) and Township Road 1025.
This section will be closed. ODOT's detour is Ohio 147 to Ohio 146 to Ohio 285 to Ohio 566. The estimated completion date is projected for April 5.
