20 people indicted by grand jury

Possible Prison Terms & Maximum Fines:

¯ First-degree felony: Three to 11 years, $20,000.

¯ Second-degree felony: Two to eight years, $15,000.

¯ Third-degree felony: One to three years, $10,000.

¯ Third-degree felony involving an act of sex or violence: One to five years, $10,000.

¯ Fourth-degree felony: Six to 18 months, $5,000.

¯ Fifth-degree felony: Six months to one year, $2,500.

Twenty defendants were indicted this week by the Washington County Grand Jury on some 32 counts.

Brennan M. Holshu, 33, of 752 Covey Court, Belpre, was indicted on one count of first-degree felony aggravated trafficking in drugs. He was arrested after reportedly being found in the 700 block of Second Street, Marietta, in October 2019 with more than five times the bulk amount for methamphetamine.

Washington County Assistant Prosecutor Joe Derkin said bulk was 3 grams.

The indictment shows the offense was committed in the vicinity of St. Mary Catholic School.

Derkin was unable to comment further on the case.

Also indicted were:

¯ Jessica L. Stevens, 39, of 425 County House Lane, Marietta, was indicted on one count of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. She was arrested after reportedly being found with methamphetamine in November 2019 at 804 Pike St., Marietta.

¯ Tracey D. Boggs, 43, of 822 Belrock Ave., Apt. 7, Belpre, was indicted on one count of aggravated possession of drugs, a third-degree felony. She was arrested after reportedly being found in August 2019 with methamphetamine that exceeded the bulk amount.

¯ Brady L. Harris, 19, of 15681 Waterford Road, Waterford, was indicted on one count of improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, a fourth-degree felony; one count of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony; and one count of possession of heroin, a fifth-degree felony. He was arrested after allegedly having a loaded weapon in his vehicle, along with heroin and methamphetamine, in October 2019.

¯ Leroy J. Clark, 45, of 20670 State Route 550, Marietta, was indicted on one count of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. He was arrested after allegedly having methamphetamine in March 2020.

¯ Charles R. Miller, 25, last known address of 910 Caywood Road, Marietta, was indicted on one count of possession of a fentanyl-related compound, a fifth-degree felony. He was allegedly found with the drugs in June 2020.

¯ Andrew Michael Lee Sutherland, 25, of 55 Bells Run Road, Newport, was indicted on two counts of cruelty to companion animals, both fifth-degree felonies; and one count of illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia, a fourth-degree misdemeanor. He allegedly caused serious physical harm to two Siberian husky dogs, Dexter and Taz, from August 1, 2020, through Feb. 20, 2021.

¯ Cesar Jaymin Huck, 25, of 1720 Center Bend Road, Beverly, was indicted on one count of failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer, a third-degree felony.

In January, a sergeant with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office observed a traffic violation. When a traffic stop was attempted, the vehicle briefly stopped, then pulled onto U.S. 50 and continued traveling toward Belpre.

Although the emergency lights and siren were used, Huck reportedly refused to stop. Sheriff’s office reports state he was eventually stopped with the assistance of a Belpre patrolman.

¯ Nathan D. Fisher, 27, of 547 Springwood Circle SW, New Philadelphia, was indicted on five charges, including one count of possession of LSD and three counts of aggravated possession of drugs, all fifth-degree felonies; and one count of possession of drugs, a first-degree misdemeanor. He was arrested after allegedly having LSD, methamphetamine, lisdexamfetamine (also known as Vyvanse), methylenedioxy-methamphetamine (also known as MDMA, ecstasy or molly) and ketamine in August 2020 at Interstate 77 near milepost 8 in Marietta.

¯ Michael J. Kaurich, 24, of 1136 Parkside Ave., Alliance, was indicted on one count of improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, a fourth-degree felony. After a traffic stop on Interstate 77 near milepost 14 in Macksburg, he was allegedly found with a loaded firearm in his vehicle.

¯ Angela S. Johnson, 47; Crystal D. Seevers, 37; and Joshua D. Sprague, 41; all of 100 Del Ray Circle, Marietta; were arrested after allegedly stealing a check from L&K Enterprises in July 2020. Johnson was indicted on one count of receiving stolen property, a fifth-degree felony. Seevers was indicted on one count of complicity in the commission of an offense, a fifth-degree felony, while Sprague was indicted on one count of theft, a fifth-degree felony.

¯ Brandon M. Schmidt, 30, of 623 E. Paint St., Washington Court House, was indicted on one count of aggravated possession of drugs (methamphetamine), possession of heroin and possession of a fentanyl-related compound, all fifth-degree felonies. He was arrested after allegedly having the drugs at 10th and Warren streets, Marietta, in August 2020.

¯ Robert McCoy, 46, of 106 W. Fay Ave., Marietta, was indicted on one count of failure to appear as required by recognizance, a fourth-degree felony. He allegedly failed to appear March 2 in Washington County Common Pleas Court.

¯ Ryan James McLean, 35, of 453 Eyerman Road, Belpre, was indicted on one count of failure to appear as required by recognizance, a fourth-degree felony. He reportedly failed to appear in Common Pleas Court on March 5.

¯ Andrew D. Creighton, 29, of 411 Couglar St., New Matamoras, was indicted on one count of failure to appear as required by recognizance, a fourth-degree felony. He allegedly failed to appear in Common Pleas Court on Feb. 16.

¯ Cody J. Wriston, 28, of 808 Warren St., Marietta, was indicted on one count of failure to appear as required by recognizance, a fourth-degree felony. He reportedly failed to appear in court on Jan. 11.

¯ Timothy Curtis Nay, 51, of 9105 State Route 550, Vincent, was indicted on one count of theft from a person in a protected class, a fifth-degree felony. He allegedly stole a BlackMax generator from an elderly Vincent resident in November 2020.

¯ Rebecca P. Lanning, 32, of 105 Melody Lane, Marietta, was indicted on one count of having weapons while under disability, a third-degree felony. She was arrested after being reportedly found with a Glock 21 in February on Ohio 7 near milepost 24 in Marietta. She was under a June 2020 indictment by the grand jury for trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound.

¯ John Aaron Givens, 40, of 100 Linwood Ave. Apt. B, Marietta, was indicted on one count of escape, a third-degree felony. He was reportedly under detention and left the facility in October 2020.
