Meetings
≤ The April regular meeting for the Frontier Local School Board will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday in the Frontier High/Middle School media center.
≤ The Washington County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society will meet at 1 p.m. April 17 at Norwood UMC, 23 Colegate Drive, in the lower level meeting room. Parking is available beside the church in the alley. Covid precautions will be observed and masks are required. Visitors welcome.
≤ Washington County Relay for Life will hold its first monthly meeting at 5:30 p.m. April 19 at the Marietta VFW picnic area on Pike Street to discuss ideas for the upcoming season. ≤ The Reno Water and Sewer District will hold its regularly scheduled board meeting at 6 p.m. April 20 at the Reno Water office, 170 Mount Tom Road. The public is welcome. Safe distancing will be practiced and masks are requested because of COVID-19.
≤ Grandview Township will hold 2021 regular meetings at 6 p.m. the first Monday of each month at the township hall. The following months will be held on different dates: July 6, and Sept. 13. These meetings will also be held at 6 p.m.
≤ Liberty Township will hold 2021 regular monthly meetings at 7 p.m. the second Monday of each month.
≤ Decatur Township will hold its monthly public meetings on the second Tuesday of each month at the township building on Welch Road in Cutler.

≤ The Marietta Family YMCA will host Come Dance Your Heart Away Zumba classes with Wendy Rehl and Stacey Mondo Saturday. Limited spots available. Fee for non-members is $5. Visit the YMCA or call 740-336-1041 to register. The YMCA is located at Complex 1, Building 3, 635-B State Route 821, Marietta.
≤ The Marietta Earth Day Celebration will sponsor a "Hard to recycle materials" event from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday in the People's Bank parking lot near the Putnam Street bridge. Visit the Facebook page/MariettaEarthDay Celebration to see all that can be recycled; tv (a small cost), electronics, mattresses, scrap metal, and more.
≤ Switchback RC in the Village will hold its open house from noon-4 p.m. Saturday at 185 3rd Street, Lowell. The Board of Trustees and racers will be on hand to answer questions, display racing class 1/10th scale cars, trucks, and tractors, and provide information for those interested in becoming a part of our sport series. Parking will be available onsite for public use.
≤ Two hikes on the nature trail behind the Washington County Career Center will take place Sunday. One hike will be from 10-11 a.m. and one from 11a.m.-noon. To register, visit Facebook page/MariettaEarthDaycelebration. No more than 10 can be in a group. Wear a mask. Free water bottle for participating.
≤ GoPacks will host a pandemic-safe version of the GoPacks Top Chef Challenge fundraiser April 23. Each ticket purchased helps fight child hunger and comes with a to-go dinner from the Levee House Bistro, a raffle ticket, Foodie Swag Bag, and more. Tickets can be purchased at GoPacks4kids.org and are $50 per person, $90 a couple.
≤ The Career Center's Adult Technical Training Center will host the Pathway To A Medical Career event from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. April 30 at the Washington County Career Center campus in Marietta. ≤ First Congregational Church United Church of Christ (318 Front St. in Marietta) will continue its weekly free breakfast as take-out from 8:30-10 a.m. each Saturday. All are welcome.
≤ Oak Grove Volunteer Fire Dept. will hold a pancake breakfast and a meet-and-greet new EMTs from 7-11 a.m. May 1 at the fire station at 102 Oak Grove Lane.
≤ Oak Grove Recreation Center will hold its annual plant sale from 8 a.m.-noon May 1 in the school parking lot at 535 B.F. Goodrich Road.
≤ The Ohio River Sternwheel Festival will host its eleventh annual Ohio River Sternwheel Festival 5K Run and Walk May 29 at East Muskingum Park in Marietta.
