PARKERSBURG -- As the ball drops on New Year's Eve, some local establishments are planning events to ring in the new year.
"We are going to have what's called Studio 22, which harkens back to clubbing in the 1970s," Travis Stephens, digital marketing manager for the Blennerhassett Hotel in Parkersburg, said,
That event starts at 7 p.m. and, according to Stephens, people are encouraged to wear 1970's clothing.
Tickets are $127 for an individual and $254 per couple.
Hors d'oeuvres, a wide assortment of games to play, karaoke and a complimentary toast at midnight also will be available.

"We have big plans for New Year's Eve," Al Johnson, server manager for J.P. Henry's in Parkersburg, said.
The restaurant will have 25 televisions available so people can watch the ball drop from New York City.
Hors d'oeuvres and 10 different flavors of double-winged, double-grilled chicken will be served, he said.
Whitney Cruell, of 740 Social, a restaurant-bar, and lounge in Marietta, is hosting its first New Year's Eve party that they are allowed to run after 10 p.m. The lounged opened during the pandemic last season.
"We'll be open and we will be serving our regular menu," Cruell said.
A free appetizer buffet will be available after 10 p.m., Cruell said.
The 740 Social also will offer specialty cocktails, Cruell said.

Another place having a New Year's Eve event is the American Legion Post 15 in Parkersburg.
It is planning a show featuring The Larry Neely Band, which plays classic rock, funk rock, blues and rock in general.
