Mom prom to return in April

A favorite event for local women is coming back this April.
The seventh BrAva Mom Prom is scheduled 7 to 11 p.m. April 22 at the Washington County Livestock building at the Washington County Fairgrounds.
Tickets go on sale at 7 p.m. Feb. 25 at bravamomprom.com and are $50 each.
Erin Roberts, BrAva vice-president, said they will have 500 tickets for sale.
The organization was going to try to have the event the last couple of years, but COVID forced them to cancel, she said.
Since the organization was founded, more than $400,000 has been raised to help fight childhood cancer.
According to BrAva, “Mom Prom is the ultimate girls-night-out charity event where women can dress up, hang out, sample amazing foods from local vendors, dance the night away and honor moms affected by childhood cancer all in the name of supporting an important cause.”
Roberts said more than 35 families affected by childhood cancer have been adopted by the organization.
They also donate to CureSearch, which is focused on childhood cancer research, she added.
Those helped are ages 8 to 20 from Washington County and surrounding counties.
The event is for women ages 21 and up and they do not have to be mothers to participate, Roberts said.
Event organizers said there will be a two ticket per transaction limit. Buyers will need the first and last name, phone number, email and age of each attendee.
Admission tickets will be the only ticket type for sale on Feb. 25. Guests may purchase raffle tickets and luminaries beginning March 4.
Masks are not required, but attendees may choose to wear them, Roberts said.
BrAva officials said the event will feature a deejay, a coronation honoring mothers whose children have battled childhood cancer, a raffle, and food and drink from local vendors.
