Two Cleveland residents were indicted on drug charges this week by the Washington County Grand Jury.
They were two of 27 true billed defendants indicted on 48 counts.
Cornelius S. Toney Jr., 27, of 3379 W. 100th St., Cleveland, was indicted on four charges, including one count of possession of a fentanyl-related compound and one count of trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound, both first-degree felonies; one count of tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony; and one count of resisting arrest, a second-degree misdemeanor.
He was arrested after allegedly being found with the fentanyl-related compound on Interstate 77 in March 2021.
Washington County Assistant Prosecutor Joe Derkin said Toney was charged with first-degree felonies because of the amount and type of drug.
"The amount makes it mandatory time (in prison)," he said. "And anything more than 20 grams makes it first-degree."
Toney was reportedly found with 50 to 100 grams of the drug.
Chevon L. Toney, 23, of 7510 Brinsmade Ave. Up, Cleveland, was indicted with Cornelius Toney on three drug charges. He was charged with one count of possession of a fentanyl-related compound and trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound, both second-degree felonies, and one count of tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony.
He was reportedly found with 10 to 20 grams of the drug.
Other indictments include:
¯ William R. Davis, 46, of 66317 State Route 124, Reedsville, was indicted on one count of aggravated possession of drugs, a third-degree felony. He was arrested after allegedly being caught with methamphetamine on July 4, 2021, on U.S. 50 in Marietta.
¯ Jason R. Stewart, 29, of 488 Catherine St., Columbus, was indicted on one count of failure to appear as required by recognizance, a fourth-degree felony. He was reportedly to appear in Washington County Common Pleas Court on March 4 in connection with a felony charge.
¯ Thomas L. Jones, 31, of 1804 Harrisonburg Road NE, Canton, was indicted on five charges, including one count of having weapons while under disability, a third-degree felony; one count of improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, a fourth-degree felony; one count of trafficking in marijuana and one count of receiving stolen property, both fifth-degree felonies; and one count of possession of marijuana, a fourth-degree misdemeanor.
He was arrested after reportedly being found with a Sig P250 9mm handgun with ammunition and a handgun magazine in January on Interstate 77 in Marietta. He was convicted of bank robbery in January 2016 in the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Ohio, Eastern Division. The weapon is subject to forfeit. There is a one-year firearm specification as he had a firearm on his person while reportedly trafficking in the drug. He also allegedly had a CSE Mastercard that did not belong to him.
¯ Taylor F. Walke, 19, of 2932 Abingdon Heights Drive, Hayes, Va., was indicted with Thomas L. Jones on four charges, including one count of improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, a fourth-degree felony; one count of trafficking in marijuana and one count of receiving stolen property, both fifth-degree felonies; and one count of possession of marijuana, a fourth-degree misdemeanor.
He is also reportedly an owner of a Sig P250 9mm handgun which was found in the vehicle.
¯ Zackary R. Edwards, 30, of 2835 Meadow View Drive, Parkersburg, was indicted on one count of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. He was allegedly found in March 2021 on Ohio 7 in Marietta with methamphetamine.
¯ Tricia Queen, 41, last known address of 27744 Cincinnati Ridge Road, Coolville, was indicted on one count of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, and one count of illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia, a fourth-degree misdemeanor. She was arrested after reportedly being found with methamphetamine in December on Township Road 15 in Belpre.
¯ Dwayne Singer, 30, last known address of 2050 Roberts Road, Amesville, was indicted with Tricia Queen on one count of complicity in the commission of an offense, a fifth-degree felony; one count of illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia, a fourth-degree misdemeanor; and one count of having weapons while under disability, a third-degree felony. He was arrested after reportedly being found in December on Township Road 15 in Belpre with methamphetamine. The indictment stated he allegedly carried a firearm although he is drug dependent, in danger of drug dependence or a chronic alcoholic.
¯ Carolyn J. Schroeder, 47, of 7641 Pike St., Mineral Wells, W.Va., was indicted on one count of theft, a fifth-degree felony. She allegedly had bank cards that did not belong to her.
¯ Daniel Allen Rohr, 28, of 1459 Poplar St., Belpre, was indicted on one count of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. He was arrested after reportedly being found in May in Belpre, with methamphetamine.
In a separate case, Rohr was indicted on one count of breaking and entering, a fifth-degree felony, and one count of petty theft, a first-degree misdemeanor. He allegedly broke into a Little Hocking residence and stole two laptop computers.
¯ Steven M. Boise II, also known as Steven M. Boice II, 36, of 2552 Elizabeth Pike, Marietta, was indicted on one count of receiving stolen property, a fifth-degree felony. He allegedly had a Valdo SL 5.0 electric assist bicycle that did not belong to him.
¯ John J. Hendershot II, 42, of 920 Coon Run Road, Lower Salem, was indicted on one count of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. He allegedly was found with oxycodone in April 2019 on Ohio 821 in Marietta.
¯ Ty A. Hall, 23, of 79 Gomber Ave., Cambridge, was indicted on one count of failure to appear as required by recognizance, a fourth-degree felony. He was reportedly to appear in common pleas court on March 4.
¯ Anthony C. Williams, 50, of 707 Elberon Ave., Zanesville, was indicted on one count of escape, a third-degree felony. He allegedly failed to return to detention at Oriana House in January.
¯ Joshua A. Byers, 26, of 13785 Emerson Ave., Williamstown, and Derek E. Boice, 35, of 489 Sandhill Road, Marietta, were each indicted on one count of aggravated possession of drugs, fifth-degree felonies. They were reportedly arrested after being found in June 2020 on Ohio 7 in Marietta Township with methamphetamine.
¯ Derek M. Bolin, 31, of 278 ¢ W. Hunter St., Logan, and Ja'Lynn M. Layton, 21, of 192 Gallagher Ave., Logan, were each indicted on one count of aggravated possession of drugs, fifth-degree felonies. They were arrested after reportedly being found in June in Marietta with the drugs. Bolin allegedly carried the hallucinogenic drug Psilocyn, while Layton was allegedly found with amphetamine.
¯ Homer M. Fry, 57, of Wingett Run, was indicted on one count of disrupting public service, a fourth-degree felony, and one count of domestic violence, a fourth-degree misdemeanor. He allegedly caused a family member to believe he would physically harm them and stopped them from using a phone to call law enforcement.
¯ Nathan Corey Strickler, 34, of 1454 Rector Road, Parkersburg, was indicted on one count of illegal conveyance of drugs of abuse onto grounds of a specified government facility and one count of tampering with evidence, both third-degree felonies; and one count of possession of a fentanyl-related compound, a fourth-degree felony. He reportedly attempted to take a fentanyl-related compound into the Washington County Jail in January 2021.
¯ Charles William Clark, 44, of 2939 Washington Blvd., Belpre, was indicted on one count of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. He was arrested after reportedly being found on Ohio 339, Waterford, in June 2021 with methamphetamine.
¯ Christopher M. Hilton, 34, of Lowell, was indicted on one count of domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony. He allegedly caused harm to a family member on March 9 in Lowell. He had previously been convicted of domestic violence on Nov. 18, 2016, in Marietta Municipal Court.
¯ Melanie A. Blake, 47, homeless, was indicted on one count of breaking and entering, a fifth-degree felony, and one count of petty theft, a first-degree misdemeanor. She reportedly broke into 1500 Greene St., Marietta, in February.
¯ Sherman Leasure, 21, of 924 Hughes St., Martins Ferry, was indicted on one count of escape, a third-degree felony. He reportedly did not return to detention at Oriana House in February.
¯ Ricky D. Terrell, 53, of 27315 State Route 7 Apt. 15, Marietta, was indicted on one count of importuning and one count of possessing criminal tools, both fifth-degree felonies. He reportedly tried to solicit a person between the ages of 13 and 16 for sexual activity, but instead solicited a law enforcement officer.
