The following construction projects are anticipated to affect local highways in the coming weeks.
All work is weather permitting.
Washington County
¯ Ohio 7 tree removal – A tree removal project is taking place on Ohio 7 between Ohio 807 and Dana Road (County Road 244). This is in preparation for a rockslide repair project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.
Estimated completion: March 25.
¯ Ohio 7 bridge deck repair – A bridge deck repair project begins Monday on Ohio 7, between Newells Run Road (Township Road 19) and Greene Street (Township Road 1405). One lane will be closed. Traffic will be maintained with temporary signals.
Estimated completion: April 1.
¯ Ohio 821 rockfall repair – A rockfall repair project is taking place on Ohio 821, between Ohio 145 and Mills-Firehouse Lane (Township Road 586). Traffic is being maintained by flaggers. A full road closure will be in place for up to 15 minutes at a time while the contractor is removing debris.
Estimated completion: Tuesday.
¯ Village of Beverly intersection improvement – An intersection improvement project begins April 4 in the Village of Beverly. Signal and pedestrian improvements will take place at the intersection of Ohio 60 and Ferry/Center/McIntosh/Ullman streets. Periodic land closures will be in place.
Estimated completion: Sept. 1.
Monroe County
¯ Ohio 537 landslide repair/realignment – A landslide repair and realignment project is taking place on Ohio 537. The project involves the construction of a new 0.55 mile section of Ohio 537, which includes retaining walls, drainage structures, and the removal of a portion of existing Ohio 537.
From April 1 through Sept. 1, the road will be closed between Township Road 678 and Township Road 307. ODOT's detour is Ohio 537 to Ohio 260 to Ohio 26.
Estimated project completion: Dec. 1.
¯ Ohio 78 rockslide repair – A rockslide repair project is taking place on Ohio 78 between Ohio 536 and Township Road 378. Traffic is being maintained by flaggers.
Estimated completion: Aug. 15.
¯ County Road 12 bridge replacement – A bridge replacement project begins April 4 on County Road 12, between Brownsville and Ohio 800. The road will be closed. The detour is Ohio 800 north to Mechanicsburg Road to County Road 40 to County Road 12.
Estimated completion: July 31.
