The Washington County Board of Commissioners discussed several contracts during their Friday morning meeting.
One was a scope of work agreement with Sunday Creek Horizons.
"This is a 90-day agreement with them, and then after that, it's month to month," said Commission President Charlie Schilling.
Commissioner Kevin Ritter said Sunday Creek was the group hired to help bring in money for the Devola sewer.
"I think it goes without saying that they were fabulously successful," he said, noting they had a hand in obtaining $12 million for the project.
He said the commission believes 90 days is a reasonable chance to take
"They have specific duties and we're going after more money," Ritter said. "If they don't perform for some reason, we can end the contract."
The contract for the county recorder's archive project was approved.
Ritter said it was a huge project that was being done in phases. There is a lot of paper in the courthouse that needs archived digitally, he said.
County Engineer Roger Wright submitted his annual report for roads and bridges. In his report, he noted 83.7 total miles were chip sealed or resurfaced in 2021, the county's largest program to date.
He reported the goal is to maintain the county road system so that 90% of the roads are in at least fair condition. That level is now at 97%.
"We had a really, really big year last year," Wright said.
The engineer's department also has a goal to maintain all county bridges such that 90% are at, or above, a general appraisal of 5, which is fair condition. The goal was met with 94.2% listed as fair or better.
Commissioner Jamie Booth said anyone who questioned county roads should read the report.
"It's very, very detailed. It's an easy read," he said.
