Career Center honors Hall of Fame inductee

Former Career Center student, Emily (Pickens) Jones, was honored at the May Board of Education meeting as an inductee into the prestigious Washington County Career Center Alumni Hall of Fame. She is a 2013 Belpre High School graduate from the Career Center’s Building Technology/Carpentry program.

In 2015, Jones enlisted into the United States Air Force and completed basic training in Texas at Lackland Air Force Base. From there she completed advanced training, in plumbing and water purification, as a civil engineer at Shepard Air Force Base. She has received various awards and decorations thus far and has completed Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) training.

In 2021, Jones was promoted to Staff Sergeant and reenlisted after completing six years of active duty. She has completed two overseas tours to Qatar, SWA to Al Udeid Air Base. She is currently serving a one-year tour in Seoul, South Korea. In October of this year, Jones will return to the United States and be stationed at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Emily is married to SSG Travis Jones and has one son, Dravian, and two dogs, Ghost and Shadow.
