America’s Best Restaurants features Williamstown business

WILLIAMSTOWN–A Williamstown restaurant will be featured by America’s Best Restaurants.

DaVinci’s will be visited by America’s Best Restaurants, a national media and marketing company focusing on local, independently owned restaurants, on Oct. 20 when the ABR Roadshow visits the restaurant.

Popular dishes will be highlighted with an extensive on-camera interview with owner Chris Bender about the restaurant’s place in the community. The episode will be extensively aired on social media channels at a later date.

Open since 1980, Da Vinci’s is an icon in the Williamstown area. Three stories high, there is seating for up to 650 guests including in private dining areas for events and a 60-seat outdoor patio.

Originally owned by Jim and Marilyn Pettit, the restaurant is now owned and operated by Bender, who worked for the Pettits for 30 years as a server and then manager before buying the establishment. Bender said she never intended to stay so long, but it’s the love for the people keeping her there.

“(I love) the people, the interaction with not only the customers, but the employees, the people that you meet and their stories,” she said.

Some employees have worked at Da Vinci’s almost since it opened.

Bender also noted the consistency of the food at the restaurant. The menu is Italian with daily, nightly and Sunday specials.

Among the favorites are Spaghetti Mona Lisa and the German Pizza that features horseradish sauce, corned beef and sauerkraut. Both are likely to be featured on the episode, she said.

Da Vinci’s also has an in-house pastry chef. The mile-high lemon meringue pie and the frozen coconut caramel pie are favorites, Bender said.

America’s Best Restaurants will film from 2-5 pm EST. The episode airing date will be announced on its Facebook page and will be featured on America’s Best Restaurants’ website at https://americasbestrestaurants.com/west-virginia/davincis-restaurant .

DaVinci’s is located at 215 Highland Ave.

America’s Best Restaurants is based in Florence, Ky.
