Chartered in March of 1922, the Kiwanis Club of Marietta recently celebrated its 100th anniversary with a dinner cruise onboard the Valley Gem. Several representatives of Kiwanis Clubs around the State attended to congratulate the Marietta Club for its longevity and its extensive community involvement throughout the years. President- Elect John Halliday recognized Judy Peoples as "Kiwanian of the Year" for 2021-2022 noting her eagerness to participate in all club activities without hesitation.
Officers and Board Members for the year beginning October 1 were to be inducted at the club's first meeting of the year. Incoming officers are: President, John Halliday; President-Elect, Donovan Peoples; Co-Secretaries, Linda Eddy and Judy Peoples; Treasurer, Michelle Secrest and Immediate Past President, Amy Bean.
Board members serving the club in 2022-2023 are: Mark Doebrich, Melanie Singer, Ann Hontz, Tom Hushion, Will Johnson, Maxwell Fitzgerald, Matthew Fitzgerald, Shoshanna Brooker and Katie Baum.
The following members were recognized for their length of service in Kiwanis: Joe Grimm- 47 years; Donovan Peoples- 37 years; Dorothy Peppel- 34 years; Margie Greenless and Jeanette Hale- 31 years; Mark Doebrich- 30 years; Kyle Lankford- 28 years, Jan Seaman- 27 years; Linda Eddy, Tom Hushion and Jennifer Offenberger- 26 years; Judy VanDyk-25 years; John Halliday and David Mitchem 23 years; Marilynn Scharff, Joan Zoller and Inez Bowie 22 years and Sandy DeLong- 21 years.
