¯ Lt. Hornbeck began an investigation into numerous mailboxes being damaged in the area of Veto Road, between Briggs Hill and Braun Road. It was noted that vehicles were used, as well as other objects to damage the boxes. Anyone with information is asked to contact the office at 740-376-7070, ext. 0.
¯ Deputy Davis responded to meet with an individual in reference to an incident that occurred with Matthew A. Noland in Newport Township. It was noted that Noland had confronted the subject about visiting with his daughter. Noland was advised to check with the judge and respective court. Noland used his body to pin the victim against the car, refraining her from getting into the vehicle and leaving. Noland continued screaming at the victim during this encounter. After speaking with all interested parties Matthew Allen Noland, 43, 1020 Henry Camp Road, St. Marys, was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Jail, charged with domestic violence and unlawful restraint.

¯ At 16:29 hours, Deputy Tucker began an investigation into a 2019 Sure Trac dump trailer being stolen from Bear Creek Road, Muskingum Township. The complainant stated that a Dodge truck was observed, driven by David Rummer, on the property on Feb. 3. They also observed the same individual Feb. 6 during the early morning hours. On Feb. 6, Rummer can be seen on surveillance video pulling to the left of the residence and then backing up to the right of the residence, which is where the trailer in question was located. Rummer then can be seen exiting the property with the trailer. On Feb. 18 Sgt. Painter and Deputy Schwendeman conducted a traffic stop on the white Dodge truck, which had stopped at Speedway, Muskingum Drive. Contact was made with David Rummer inside the business, with Rummer acknowledging that the truck belonged to him. A charge of theft was filed on David Allen Rummer, 59, 177 Rummer Road, Lowell.
¯ Deputy Norris was dispatched to Pryor Glass Road, New Matamoras, to a domestic violence incident involving Gregory Butler II. Butler met with Deputy Norris. Butler stated he had been in a verbal argument with the victim. Butler stated he tried to get away from the victim, however he was followed to where he was going. Butler stated that was when the argument turned physical. Gregory Dale Butler II, 31, 1188 Pryor Glass Road, New Matamoras, was placed under arrest and charged with domestic violence.
¯ Sgt. Young was dispatched to the Par Mar gas station located at 26960 Ohio 7, Marietta Township, to a report of a female passing a counterfeit $100 bill. The female had paid $8.57 using the fake $100 bill and received change in the amount of $91.43. The female was observed leaving in a Ford pickup truck with Florida license plates. Through investigation it was determined that a subject known as Lori Beth Turner was at a local hotel and she had been arrested by the Marietta police for counterfeiting, possessing criminal tools, and obstructing official business. On March 4, Sgt. Young obtained photos of the subject passing the counterfeit currency. The photo shows Turner as the one passing the $100 bill on Feb. 26. Turner, 48, last known address 1230 E. Long St., Columbus, is being charged with counterfeiting, a fourth-degree felony.
Feb. 27
¯ Sgt. McConnell began an investigation into a home being burglarized in Waterford Township. Numerous items of value were removed from the home.
¯ Deputy Thornberry and Lt. Gherke were dispatched to Decatur Township in regard to an unruly juvenile. After completing the investigation it was determined to forward the file to the Washington County Prosecutor's Office Juvenile Division.
¯ Deputy Gainer was dispatched to Belpre Township in reference to a financial scam investigation. This incident involved a bank account made in another's name.
¯ At 21:30 hours Lt. Hunter and Sgt. Painter were dispatched to Starlite Drive, Marietta Township in reference to an incident of domestic violence involving Hugo C. Mendez. It was reported to Deputy Gainer that an argument occurred on Feb. 24 in which Mendez threatened harm with a gun. After this was stated, Mendez left the area and returned to his home in Mount Gilead, Ohio. Deputies met with Mendez at the Starlite Drive home. A shotgun was removed from under the front seat of the truck, which Mendez states he always keeps there, advising that is why the victim was scared he would carry out his threats. Mendez denied making threats of killing the victim. After completing the investigation Hugo Cesar Mendez, 47, was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Jail, charged with domestic violence.

¯ Deputy Eichhorn was on patrol in Muskingum Township near the 4 mile marker of Interstate 77. A dark-colored vehicle with Ohio temporary registration was observed committing traffic violations several times. A traffic stop was conducted in which Deputy Eichhorn immediately smelled the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle.
The driver and passenger were asked if there were any illegal drugs or weapons in the vehicle. Both subjects advised no, but stated they had smoked marijuana recently. Both subjects exited the vehicle and a search was conducted. During the search, one subject said he had marijuana on his person, which he removed from his hoodie. The subject also stated he had marijuana in his sock. The subject was found to be in possession of 17.5 grams of marijuana. A citation was issued to Ondra Da'Shawn Daniels, 25, 2456 Stewart Drive, Warren, on a charge of possession of marijuana.
