RENO — The Washington County Sheriff’s office is investigating the deaths of two individuals found in a home Thursday afternoon at 445 Sandhill Road in Reno.
Sheriff Larry Mincks said officers made entry into the home on Thursday and discovered the bodies of Michael Edward Dixon, 55, and Melisa A. Fowler-Dixon, 56, after receiving a call from both of the individuals’ employers saying neither showed up to work on Wednesday or Thursday.
Minks said the investigation is ongoing, and that officers are still collecting and processing evidence, but initial indications suggest Dixon shot Fowler-Dixon and then turned the gun on himself. Mincks said it appears the incident might have occurred Tuesday night as the lights in the residence were still on when officers arrived.
He said both bodies have been sent to Morgan County for an autopsy and that the police will continue to gather information and evidence. He said officers were interviewing individuals, talking to neighbors, family and friends, and that he encourages anyone with information to contact the sheriff’s office.
