¯ Police were dispatched to Walmart March 28 in reference to a shoplifting complaint. After investigation Kylie Ann Matheny, 18, and Zakari Allen Claggett, 18, and Keely Zayda Kleintop, 18, were arrested for theft after trying to steal Pokemon cards. They were released on a personal recognizance bond.
¯ Police investigated an assault complaint at Marietta High School March 29. Following investigation, a female student will be summoned into Washington County Juvenile Court for assault after attacking another student.
¯ Police were dispatched March 29 to the 700 block of Colegate Drive in reference to a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle. Units arrived on scene and observed a male with apparent injuries to his head and face. Police were able to watch security footage from Washington State Community College, which showed the victim crash a bicycle on the sidewalk with no vehicle near him at the time he crashed.
¯ Police were dispatched to the 600 block of Front Street March 29 in reference to a juvenile threatening to assault his family members and destroying property. It was determined that a 13-year-old male had committed the crimes of assault, domestic violence and menacing. He was transported to the Washington County Juvenile Center.
¯ On March 30 police responded to the Seventh Street Speedway in reference to a theft complaint. Upon arrival, police made contact with the caller and learned that his cell phone had been stolen while it was being charged at an exterior outlet on the property. The case is under investigation at this time.
¯ Police responded to the 600 block of Virginia Street in reference to an assault complaint March 30. After investigation, Steven Pryor, 60, was arrested for assault and transported to the Washington County Jail.
¯ Police were dispatched to Walmart March 31 in reference to a customer failing to scan $133 in merchandise. Kristin Nicole Dutcher, 40, was charged with misdemeanor theft and released on a recognizance bond.
¯ Police responded April 1 to the 800 block of Glendale Road for a disturbance complaint. Officers located Barbara Wyant, 59, hiding behind a couch in the residence. Wyant was known to have an active warrant and was arrested on the same. She was also charged with obstructing official business.
¯ Police were dispatched to the 700 block of Seventh Street April 2 in reference to a stolen Honda generator. Officers made contact with the victim and a written statement was gathered and added to the case file, along with the generator information. The case remains under further investigation.
¯ On April 3 police investigated a drug possession complaint received from Common Pleas Court Adult Probation officers after they found suspected K2, a synthetic psychoactive chemical, in the vehicle of a probationer.
¯ Police took a complaint April 3 on the misuse of a credit card in which money was taken from an account. The case remains under investigation.
¯ On April 4 police responded to Washington Square in reference to a disturbance. After investigation it was learned that a juvenile passenger in a vehicle had been driven through the apartment complex by his sister and used a water pellet gun to shoot and injure another juvenile who was walking through the complex to do his laundry. As a result, the juvenile suspect was charged with assault. The case will be forwarded to juvenile court.
¯ Nicholas R. Sandy, 25, was charged with OVI in a traffic arrest March 29.
