The board of Fenton Art Glass Collectors of America announced at their annual convention Thursday in Marietta that they had bought a building in Williamstown for the purpose of turning it into a Fenton glass museum.
The building is an old church right across from their current office. Board Member Ben Bensinger said the building is a stone structure under the plastic siding on the exterior.
The property the board bought for the museum also included a house. The house is being rented out and the renters of the house have a lease that expires in December. President CC Hardman said the board does not have any plans for the building. Hardman said that they will likely not form any plans for the building until the lease expires.
While the organization has bought an additional building, Hardman said they will be keeping their office. Hardman said there would not be enough room in the new building for the office and the museum.
According to the board, the new building has enough parking room fit for a museum.

Secretary Dan Haughey compared the new building’s parking space to the Williamstown Antique Mall parking space. Haughey mentioned that there is also street parking available for the new building.
The building is handicap accessible, as it is only one floor, and Board Member Claire Kauffung said they plan on making it more handicap accessible.
