Marietta Police Capt. Aaron Nedeff said the victim of a recent stabbing in downtown Marietta has been released from the hospital.
It was reported by the department that three females approached an officer at 2:30 a.m. July 16 with visible injuries and indicated they had been stabbed on the corner of Front and Green streets.
It was then reported that a suspect was located in the 100 block of Front Street, detained, questioned and then arrested and taken to the Washington County Jail, but it was later clarified that person was not arrested or charged at the time, and that the department was still investigating the incident.
Nedeff said the investigation is still ongoing and that detectives have viewed multiple videos of the incident and are "going through them with a fine tooth comb," as they try to identify potential suspects.
Nedeff said if anyone has information on the incident to call the Marietta Police Department at 740-376-2007 and ask for Detective Derek Tewanger.
