¯ Adam Shane Cunningham, 34, of 3300 Shannon Road, Durham, N.C., was driving a 2019 Ford Fusion southbound on I-77 in Enoch Township July 9 when he lost control of his vehicle, went off the right side of the road and struck a guardrail. He was charged with operating a vehicle in unsafe condition. Patrol reports noted worn or slick tires.

¯ Davaughn M. Strader, 38, of 1350 Montezuma St., Pittsburgh, was northbound on I-77 in Salem Township July 6 when he drove off the right side of the road, struck a ditch and a fence, then overturned. He was driving a 2012 Ford E-450 cargo van owned by U Haul Co. of Arizona in Phoenix, Ariz., and transporting caged snakes. The van was badly damaged and an opening was made in the side in order to enter and retrieve the reptiles. Several had been tossed out of their cages, according to the patrol report. Riding in the van were Syreeta D. Bell, 40, of Jacksonville, N.C., and Devaughn M. Strader, 6, and Lillie D. Strader, 5, both of 1350 Montezuma St., Pittsburgh. Strader and the three passengers all had possibly serious injuries and were transported to Marietta Memorial Hospital by Devola EMS. Children's Protective Services were contacted because the driver was driving under suspension and had signs of impairment. The patrol report noted that Strader had fallen asleep or fainted, and marijuana use was suspected. Blood tests for alcohol and drug use were both given, with results not determined at the time of the report. Charges were not listed at the time of the patrol report due to felony charges pending from the Washington County Prosecutor's Office after case review.

¯ Jennifer R. Kennedy, 33, of 4180 Two Mile Road, Cutler, was driving a 2013 Honda Civic eastbound on County Road 3 when she struck a deer, went off the right side of the road and struck a fire hydrant. No charge was listed on the patrol report.

¯ Larry Calvin Russell, 83, of 5329 School House Road, Little Hocking, was driving a 2011 Kia Sorento SUV northbound on Ohio 7 in Warren Township July 6 when he struck a railroad crossing gate. Patrol reports noted that running a red light was a contributing factor. He was charged with not following driver requirements involving a railroad crossing.

¯ Zackary C. Kerns, 36, of 60 Elm St., Waterford, driving a 2017 Subaru Legacy, and Tisha L. McIntosh, 2640 Highland Ridge Road, Lowell, driving a 2017 Cadillac XTS SUV, were both southbound on Ohio 60 in Adams Township July 8 when Kerns' vehicle struck the back of McIntosh's vehicle. Kerns was charged with failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.

¯ Cody D. Williams of 62 Willowbrook Drive, Parkersburg, was westbound on Ohio 550 in Barlow Township July 3 when another vehicle traveling eastbound went left of center and struck Williams' 2021 Ram 1500 pickup truck. Williams' truck then went off the side of the road and struck a guardrail face. No information on the second vehicle or driver was listed on the patrol report.

¯ Billie O. Elkins, 64, of 6300 N. Ohio 60 NW, McComb, Ohio, was driving a 2006 Sterling single unit dump truck, owned by Larry Lang Excavating LLC of Beverly, in Belpre Township June 29 when he stopped on Ohio 618 while waiting to turn left onto Ohio 339. His vehicle was struck in the back by James Wesley Brucker, 53, of 51937 Bigley Ridge Road, Long Bottom, driving a 2017 Toyota Scion IA owned by Tina M. Brucker, same address. Brucker had possible minor injuries and was taken to Camden Clark Memorial Hospital by Little Hocking EMS. Brucker, who was charged with driving while distracted, said he had been looking at the smoke in the sky. Patrol reports said following too closely was a contributing factor.
