¯ Mark E. Perine, 41, of 3400 Rainbow Road, Lowell, driving a 2015 GMC Sierra pickup truck northbound on Ohio 60 in McConnelsville Aug. 15, was stopped for traffic at a steady red signal light when his vehicle was struck in the back by Charlene R. Perine, 38, of 3400 Rainbow Road, Lowell, driving a 2014 Infiniti Q50. Charlene Perine charged with failure to maintain assured clear distance.
¯ Shaylyn E. Cramer, 22, of 155 Fred Smith Road, New Matamoras, was driving a 2018 Kia Optima eastbound on Ohio 26 in Ludlow Township Aug. 6 when she failed to negotiate a curve, went off the right side of the road and struck a ditch. She was charged with operating a motor vehicle without being in reasonable control.
¯ John David Alford, 52, of 80 Timberland Drive, Parkersburg, driving a 2019 Kenworth T680 semi-tractor with one trailer unit owned by Fedex Freight Inc. of Fremont, Ind., was northbound on Ohio 555 in Wesley Township Aug. 7 when he struck a low-hanging utility line and a ditch. Alford was charged with failure to maintain assured clear distance.
¯ Josef Frank Grigar, 54, of 65 Subdivision St., Whipple, was westbound on Township Road 24 in Fearing Township Aug. 12 in a 2019 Chevy Silverado pickup truck when he went off the right edge of the road, over an embankment, and into a corn field. Grigar was charged with operating a vehicle without being in reasonable control and operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol. An alcohol breath test was given and the results showed a value of .163, the patrol report noted.
¯ Andrew E. Lowers, 47, 15045 Dungannon Road, Dexter City, was driving a 2005 Buick LeSabre southbound on Ohio 60 in Muskingum Township Aug. 10 when he slowed and struck a deer on the roadway. His vehicle was hit in the back by Brady C. Schilling, 21, of 92 Spring St., Beverly, who was driving a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta. The deer was pushed off the roadway and struck and knocked over a mailbox. Schilling was charged with failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.
¯ A northbound vehicle and a southbound vehicle both crossed the center line of Township Road 279 in Warren Township Aug. 11 and sideswiped each other in the roadway. Curtis Walter Benson, 62, of 560 Bender Road, Marietta, was driving a 2012 GMC Sierra pickup truck and Billie Jane Kennedy, 40, of 9731 Ohio 555, Cutler, was driving a 2019 Nissan NV3500 van with one trailer unit. Charges were not listed for either motorist.
¯ Shawn Michael Shriver, 57, of 5833 Ohio 550, Cutler, driving a 2016 Ram 1500 pickup truck, was stopped on Veto Road at a stop sign for Ohio 339 when his vehicle was struck in the back by Jamie L. Antill, 47, of 10060 Veto Road, Belpre, driving a 2007 Chevy Silverado pickup truck. Antill said he thought the other vehicle had moved, the patrol report noted. Antill was charged with failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.
