Employees at Peoples Bank and the Peoples Bank Foundation have made donations to the Greater Marietta Community Food Bank and to the Marietta Rotary Club totalling more than $8,800.
The food bank received $3,856 from the Peoples Bank Jeans for Hunger program started in April 2020. Associates are able to wear jeans to the office on Fridays and Saturdays in exchange for a donation of any amount.
Since the program began, employees Peoples Bank have donated $421,001 to local food banks and pantries.
The Greater Marietta Community Food Pantry is the largest food pantry in Washington County. Its mission of more than 40 years is to serve families suffering from food insecurity with dignity and compassion.
"Peoples Bank is a proud supporter of the Greater Marietta Community Food Pantry," said Kevin Eagan, Peoples Bank chief marketing officer. "Food insecurity can cause serious issues for children and adults, so the mission of the food pantry has been so beneficial for our community."
Peoples Bank Foundation donated $5,000 to the Rotary Club of Marietta. Rotary promotes business, leadership and personal development.
"Peoples Bank is happy to support the Rotary Club of Marietta. The Rotarians do great things for the community of Marietta," said Staci Matheney, president of Peoples Insurance and president of Peoples Bank Foundation.
Peoples Bank Foundation was started by Peoples Bank in 2003 and is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2023. Since its inception, the foundation has donated about $7 million in grants and scholarships.
Peoples Bancorp has been headquartered in Marietta since 1902. Peoples had $8.8 billion in total assets and 150 locations in Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia, Washington D.C. and Maryland.
