WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center Stroke Program Coordinator Callie Benedict prepares to take the blood pressure of Mineral Wells resident David Calvert Saturday during the hospital’s Health & Wellness Day Saturday at Grand Central Mall in Vienna. It was the first time the event had been held since 2019. Nearly 40 exhibitors set up to offer education on various health care topics to residents, as well as free EKGs provided by Parkersburg Cardiology Associates, blood pressure readings, blood glucose finger stick tests, skin cancer screenings and more. The hospital’s inflatable Stollin’ Colon exhibit was set up to show people what a healthy colon looks like, as well as a colon when cancer and other conditions are present. People also had an opportunity to purchase low-cost bloodwork vouchers as part of a Rotary Club of Parkersburg service project to benefit multiple community outreach efforts.
