¯ Sgt. Parks assisted the Marietta City Police Department on Front Street.
¯ Deputy Young was dispatched to B.F. Goodrich Road, Muskingum Township, for a private property crash involving a vehicle on the train tracks. Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers were on scene at the time. Individuals called a local towing company to the scene and contacted the patrol because they believed the driver was intoxicated. Ashley Marie Pollard was seated in an OSHP patrol vehicle with an odor of alcoholic beverage emitting from her. Pollard stated she had been drinking alcohol prior to driving and crashing. Horizontal gaze and standardized field sobriety tests were performed poorly by Pollard. Pollard was taken to Ohio State Highway Patrol Post 84, where she submitted to a breath test that had results of 0.52. Pollard was released with a summons to appear in Marietta Municipal Court.
July 18
¯ Deputy Windland and Deputy Thornberry were dispatched to Greenhill Road, Warren Township, to a report of a storage trailer being entered and items thrown all over the ground.
¯ Deputy Wallace began an investigation into a domestic violence incident that occurred in Watertown Township. It was reported that Zachary J. Wynn had grabbed the individual and held a knife on them. Contact was made with Wynn, 46, of 704 Cisler Drive, Marietta, where he was placed under arrest and charged with domestic violence and kidnapping.
July 20
¯ Deputy Tucker was on patrol on I-77 southbound near the one-mile marker, Pioneer Township. A Nissan vehicle with expired Florida registration was observed and a traffic stop conducted. The driver, identified as Ian Gonzalez, was also driving under license suspension. Gonzalez, 509 Foster Lane, Apt. A, Marietta, was issued a citation for driving under suspension.
July 21
¯ Deputy Ullom conducted a traffic stop on a Toyota vehicle displaying West Virginia registration in Belpre Township, Tower Road. The vehicle drove to the Par Mar parking lot, drove through the lot and back onto U.S. 50. The driver continued to flee, while committing several traffic violations. Spike sticks were utilized by Belpre Police Department near Farson Street, Belpre, and the vehicle came to a stop shortly after that. The driver was found to be Maurice Burton, 38, 1311 Oak St., Parkersburg. Active warrants for Burton were found from Athens County and Columbus. Burton stated he fled due to the active warrants. Burton was taken to the Washington County Jail and charged with failure to comply and obstructing justice.
¯ Deputies, along with the Reno Squad, responded to Caywood Road, Marietta Township, to conduct a welfare check on a subject, later confirmed deceased.
¯ Traffic stops were initiated with verbal warnings being issued: Pioneer Township: headlights required, speed, improper display, disobeying traffic control devices and defective equipment. Blennerhassett Township: turn signal usage and expired registration. Belpre Township: improper display and defective equipment. Fairfield Township: driving habits. Marietta Township: license plate light and lanes of travel.
¯ Deputy Harlow assisted the Ohio State Highway Patrol in Lawrence Township.
¯ Deputy Thornberry checked a vehicle near Ohio 618, Belpre Township. The vehicle was pulled off the roadway until a licensed driver could retrieve the vehicle. No further followup is needed.
¯ Lt. Brown was dispatched to check on a suspicious vehicle parked in Pioneer Township. The vehicle was gone before his arrival.
¯ Deputy Thornberry responded to Wesley Township in reference to someone starting a fire. No crime was found to have occurred. No further followup is needed.
¯ Deputy Derkin responded to Belpre Township about puppies being dropped off at a church. The puppies had run into the woods and were unable to be located.
¯ Deputy Thornberry responded to a report of a subject squatting by storage buildings in Warren Township. The subject was gone when law enforcement arrived.
¯ Deputy Wallace responded to Marietta Township in reference to a 911 hangup. The subject was counseled on using the non-emergency line because there was no emergency.
¯ Deputy Eichhorn observed a Lexus sedan in Pioneer Township bearing Ohio registration showing on a GMC truck. A traffic stop was conducted with Dwayne Scott Singer, 417 Harmar St., Marietta. Singer stated he did not have a valid operator's license, which was confirmed. A citation was issued for fictitious plates and driving on a suspended license.
July 22
¯ Deputy Peters and K9 Timmy were patrolling Ohio 7 northbound when a registration check was made on a white Subaru. Registration showed it was for a copper station wagon. A traffic stop was conducted at the intersection of Ohio 7 and Sterling Road, Marietta Township. The driver, Jeremy Carpenter, stated there was nothing inside the vehicle that would be considered illegal. Carpenter was advised that K9 Timmy would be deployed and would conduct a free air sniff around the vehicle. Carpenter then said there were drugs in the vehicle. The drugs were recovered and found to be four grams of methamphetamine. The passenger, James K. Treadway, 49, 921 N. Main St., Mansfield, was charged with possession of drugs. Jeremy Wade Carpenter, 38, 111 Montgomery St., Marietta, was charged with possession of drugs. Both Carpenter and Treadway were taken to the Washington County Jail
¯ Deputy Wallace was on patrol near the 900 block of Pike Street, Pioneer Township, when she observed a vehicle bearing Ohio registration driven by Trent Mason, who was known to have a suspended license. Confirmation of the suspension was obtained and a traffic stop was conducted. Prior to the stop, Mason was observed throwing something from the driver's window. What appeared to be suspected fentanyl, individually packaged/wrapped in eight lottery ticket papers, was located in the roadway where he was observed throwing it. The eight packages of fentanyl weighed 6.57 grams. Mason denied throwing anything from the window. Trent Dwight Mason, 34, 736 Greene St., Apt. 7, Marietta, was taken to the Washington County Jail. He was charged with trafficking in drugs and tampering with evidence.

¯ Jeffrey Edward Jones, 34, New Matamoras, theft and contempt of court, both misdemeanors.
¯ Trent Dwight Mason, 34, Marietta, tampering with evidence and trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound, both felonies.
¯ Chad William Richard Warner, 38, Marietta, menacing, domestic violence two counts and assault, all misdemeanors; domestic violence, one count, a felony.
¯ Shawn David Lent, 49, Vincent, driving under suspension, a misdemeanor.
¯ Douglas Dean Byers, 46, Glouster, possession of fentanyl, a felony; OVI alcohol, drug of abuse or both; driving under suspension, and no seatbelt, all misdemeanors.
