Artsbridge kicks off fall fund campaign

PARKERSBURG -- The annual Fall Fund Drive to benefit Artsbridge's arts education programs in schools and through youth-centered events kicks off today.
The objective of Artsbridge programs is arts education in schools in the surrounding counties in West Virginia and in Washington County.
"We are so grateful for the support we receive each year from our local businesses and community members," Executive Director Lyndsay Dennis said. "We couldn't do what we do, providing these wonderful programs, without you."
All funding remains local for local programs.
Artsbridge offers a variety of arts education programs, such as the Artists on Tour and Catalog of Artists for the elementary students, Arts Encounter for middle school students, art shows and openings for students and adults at Artsbridge, Belpre Citizens Bank and Grand Central Mall, scholarships for students, awards for teachers and the Very Spectacular Arts Festival for students with developmental disabilities.
Art Connections was created in 2018 as a trauma-informed expressive arts program, born out of a tangible desperation for community members to be understood in the social crisis that was affecting our community because of the substance abuse epidemic.
Artsbridge also provides free art projects at community events including Fun Fridays in Parkersburg, First Fridays in Marietta, Monster Mash and Artoberfest, among others.
The Artsbridge free summer music concerts at City Park in Parkersburg and free winter music at Grand Central Mall in Vienna are staple events in the community.
Artsbridge was created in 1986 and has been able to fund many programs through the support of local individuals and businesses.
Dennis is excited to see what projects and programs Artsbridge can take on, but also how they will keep improving current programming.
