Participants will receive a free fishing rod and reel to keep. Volunteers from local labor unions will provide youngsters with instruction and assistance and provide a picnic-style lunch.

The event is part of a series of free, community-based youth outreach activities organized under Work Boots on the Ground, the alliance's flagship conservation program.
