¯ Deputy Eichhorn observed a vehicle bearing Ohio registration commit traffic violation(s) while traveling in Pioneer Township. A traffic stop was initiated and contact was made with the driver, Johnathan Hess. While speaking with Hess, Eichhorn could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. When questioned, Hess eventually turned over a clear plastic baggie containing marijuana, later found to weigh 5.30 grams. Hess got out of the vehicle and during a search a bundle of cash totaling $786 was found on his person. Inside the vehicle a white crystalline substance consistent with methamphetamines, total weight of 3.35 grams, was located. Johnathan Michael Hess, 36, 218 Alta St., Marietta, was placed under arrest and charged with possession of drugs. He was taken to the Washington County Jail.
¯ Washington County Jail inmate Nicholas Davis broke a security glass in one of the jail dorms after requesting to move and having the request denied. Davis, 31, 24858 Hoot Owl Ridge, Caldwell, was charged with vandalism.
¯ Deputy Ullom conducted a traffic stop on Cullen Road, Pioneer Township, on a vehicle bearing Ohio registration. During the stop, Deputy Davis used K9 Ivar to conduct a sniff of the vehicle, which yielded a positive indication. The search revealed approximately 1.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine, a methamphetamine smoking device and scales. Brenillius Kene'L Duckworth, 36, 6108 Hemingway Road, Dayton, was arrested for possession of drugs. Duckworth was taken to the Washington County Jail for processing.
¯ One 911 hang-up call was received.
¯ Megan Pierce appeared at the Washington County Sheriff's Office to turn herself in on a warrant. She was taken to the Washington County Jail.
¯ A report was made about a dog possibly struck by a vehicle after the dog had been running loose.
¯ A tenant/landlord incident was reported. All subjects were advised of possible disorderly conduct charges if the situation continued.
¯ A report was received about subject(s) hauling away a tree that possibly was cut on Wayne National Forest property. The vehicle trailer and tree were impounded after the trailer had broken down on the roadway.
¯ A deputy and K9 assisted the Marietta Police Department.

¯ Misty Louise Caldwell, 46, Marietta, probation violation, two counts, both felonies.
¯ Johnathan Michael Hess, 36, Marietta, possession of drugs, a felony.
¯ Megan Nicole Pierce, 24, homeless, theft from a disabled adult and theft of credit cards, both felonies; and fugitive from justice, a misdemeanor.
¯ Taja Leah Horner, 37, Belpre, assault, a misdemeanor.
¯ Brittany Nicole Kiser, 32, The Plains, probation violation, two counts, both felonies.
¯ Jeremy Allen Hines, 30, homeless, domestic violence, a felony; and criminal damaging/endangering and domestic violence, both misdemeanors.
Sept. 21
¯ A welfare check requested by employees was conducted on a suspicious vehicle at a business in Pioneer Township.
¯ A check was requested for subjects being on property in Waterford Township. No one was located upon conducting the search.
¯ A report of a man lying along Ohio 821 was received. The subject was checked and it was found he had stopped to rest as he was walking to his destination.
¯ A deputy assisted the New Matamoras Police Department with a dog complaint.
¯ Deputies responded to Barlow Township to an alarm call. Buildings were secure and there were no signs of criminal activity.
¯ A welfare check was conducted on a subject in Palmer Township.
¯ A deputy responded to check a subject in a group home who had made threats.
¯ A report of a trespassing subject was made. Deputies patrolled the area and were unable to make contact with the individual, who had already left the scene.
¯ A report was made of threats by an ex-employee. A deputy read the texts and did not think the comments were threats. However, he advised the ex-employee to stop any contact with the ex-employer.
¯ A deputy checked a suspicious vehicle parked behind the school on Ohio 550. Subjects were going through the trash, and had permission to do so.
¯ A deputy met with a subject who had found a tracker on a vehicle he recently sold. The subject was advised of his options.
¯ Deputies checked on a vehicle in Pioneer Township with its flashers on. The motorist was dropping off a passenger.
¯ An alarm in Belpre Township was reported. Nothing suspicious was noted.
¯ Two 911 hang up calls were received.
The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail Sept. 21:
¯ Victor Branham Whittekind, 35, Marietta, failure to comply, a felony.
¯ Justin Allan Jones, 36, Marietta, trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound, possession of a fentanyl-related compound, aggravated trafficking in drugs and aggravated possession of drugs, all felonies.
¯ Joshua John Huffman, 47, Middleport, probation violation, a misdemeanor.
