Local MC students part of world premiere of ‘Stratum: An Original Musical’
Five local students are among 14 at Marietta College working on the premiere of “Stratum: An Original Musical.”
≤ Dallas Lacey of Marietta, assistant stage manager and assistant sound design in the production. Lacey is majoring in theater and is a graduate of Marietta High School.
≤ McKenzie Cameron of Vincent is in lighting design in the production. Cameron is majoring in theater-design and technology and is a graduate of Warren High School.
≤ River Perry of Williamstown is in sound design in the production. Perry is majoring in Theater-design and technology and is a graduate of Williamstown High School.
≤ Sarah Hashman of St. Marys is a master carpenter in the production. Hashman is majoring in History and is a graduate of Tyler Consolidated High School.
≤ Bryn Carter of Grantsville is among the pit musicians in the production. Carter is majoring in music therapy and is a graduate of Little Kanawha Valley Christian School.
The show opens at 8 p.m. Dec. 1 at the Friederich Theater in Marietta College. Performances also are scheduled 8 p.m. Dec. 2, Dec. 7, Dec. 8 and Dec. 9.
“Stratum: An Original Musical” is about Stratum, a superhero’s son who has trained to become the protector, but the difference between good and evil is questioned when his enemy saves an innocent civilian.
The show was written by Ashley Manion, class of 2024, who is majoring in theater and music with a minor in creative writing. The director is Melissa Hill Grande.
