One man was killed Monday evening in a two-car accident on Emerson Avenue, the Wood County Sheriff's Office said on Tuesday.
A 2011 Chevrolet Silverado traveling south on Emerson crossed into the northbound lanes, striking a 2007 Charger driven by Tracy Allen, 51, Parkersburg, the sheriff's office said. Allen died from the injuries sustained in the collision, the sheriff's office said.
Devin Bailey, 19, Williamstown, the driver of the Charger, was taken to WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center for treatment.
The accident happened around 7 p.m. in the 10500 block of Emerson Avenue, the sheriff's office said.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation by the Wood County Crash Team, the sheriff's office said. Responding agencies were the sheriff's office, the Parkersburg Police Department, Waverly and Williamstown Volunteer Fire Departments and Camden Clark Ambulance Services.
