A Marietta resident was arrested Monday afternoon for trafficking in drugs and illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material, while a Waterford resident was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Washington County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Mark Warden said agents with the Southeast Major Crimes Task Force, assisted by the Washington County Sheriff's Office Detective Bureau, served a search warrant at 844 Greene St. Unit 2, Marietta.
John Benjamin Vineyard, 40, of that address, was located at the residence and was taken into custody on a warrant for trafficking in drugs issued by the Marietta Municipal Court. Vineyard was read his Miranda Warning and admitted to viewing and streaming child pornography on his cell phone while at the Greene Street residence.
The charges against Vineyard are trafficking in drugs, a second-degree felony; and illegal use of a minor in nudity oriented material, a fifth-degree felony. He is being held on a $27,500 bond.
Tyler James Boothby, 30, of 144 Washington St., Waterford, also was found inside the Greene Street residence. While searching the residence, Boothby's belongings were located, which he confirmed were his. In his belongings agents found his wallet, ID, a 1×1 baggie with a white powder residue, a glass smoking device and a cut straw, all consistent with drug use.
Boothby was placed under arrest and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, a fourth-degree misdemeanor. He was released on a personal recognizance bond after appearing in Marietta Municipal Court
