Community Day brings over 50 organizations to interact with Fort Frye students, staff

BEVERLY -- Fort Frye High School held its eighth annual We Are Fort Frye Community Day in the high school gymnasium Thursday, the school announced via press release.

Over 50 organizations attended to interact with students and staff.

They ranged from community service organizations (Beverly Lions Club, Muskingum Valley Leos); school clubs (SAVE, Students Solving Problems, FFA); spiritual awareness (Fellowship of Christian Students, The River Family Church); community resources (Family and Children First, Marietta/Belpre Health Department, EVE Shelter), first responders (Ohio State Highway Patrol, Beverly Volunteer Fire Department, Beverly/Waterford Rescue Squad), business and industry (Ohio Nature Energy, Profusion Industries), military branches (U.S. Marine Corps and the National Guard) and education (The Ohio State University, Washington State Community College, Muskingum University, West Virginia University at Parkersburg, University of Rio Grande)

Each organization set up tables to inform students regarding the kinds of opportunities available in the Mid-Ohio Valley. Representatives presented interactive displays and information as well volunteer and employment opportunities.

The release said seniors also interacted with a panel of Fort Frye graduates from different backgrounds offering advice on finishing strong in their senior year and how to face life after high school.

The release also said Principal Andy Schob and the Fort Frye Guidance Department would like to thank all the groups who attended and offer a special note of thanks to the custodial staff for all their hard work in making this day happen.
