Peoples Bank Foundation announces $200K in holiday donations to over 125 charitable organizations
Peoples Bank Foundation announced it is donating $200,000 to local food pantries and United Way affiliates across its footprint in Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky, Virginia, Washington D.C., Maryland, Minnesota and Vermont this holiday season. The purpose of these donations is to help provide food security and other basic needs during the holidays to individuals and families in the communities served by Peoples Bank. There will be $125,000 donated to 100 non profit organizations that support hunger relief and $75,000 to 34 United Way affiliates located near Peoples Bank offices.
President and CEO of Peoples Bank Chuck Sulerzyski expressed the importance of giving back, “It is essential to our mission as a community bank to help meet the needs of our local communities. No one should go to bed hungry, especially during the holiday season.”
Mr. Sulerzyski shared that through voluntary employee payroll deductions, Peoples Bank associates have donated approximately $500,000 to food banks within the footprint of Peoples Bank branch locations since April 2020. Sulerzyski said, “I am proud of how our associates continue to come together to help individuals and families in need.”
Some of the holiday donations have already been delivered, including $10,000 to United Way Alliance of the Mid-Ohio Valley and $1,000 to Greater Marietta Community Food Pantry. The remaining donations will be delivered this month.
