Marietta woman and Coolville woman killed in auto collision on Ohio 7 Wednesday evening

WARREN TWP. — Two area women died in a two-vehicle crash on Ohio 7 Wednesday evening.

The collision happened around 6:55 p.m. Wednesday near mile post 17 in Warren Township, according to a release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Josylin A. Cunningham, 26, of Coolville, and Eva-Maria Hill, 79, of Marietta, suffered fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene, the release said.

Cunningham was driving a 2018 GMC Yukon south on Ohio 7 when Hill’s northbound 2016 Lexus RX 350 crossed the median and struck Cunningham’s vehicle, the release said.

Neither alcohol nor drugs are suspected as factors in the crash, which remains under investigation. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.

The area experienced rain and freezing temperatures Wednesday evening, but Sgt. D.R. Payne with the patrol’s Marietta Post said Thursday afternoon there was no indication that weather played a role in the incident.

Responding to the scene along with the patrol were the Warren Township Volunteer Fire Department and EMS, Marietta Fire Department, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, the patrol’s Crash Reconstruction Unit, the Ohio Department of Transportation and Westfall and Shea’s Towing.

Starting at $2.99/week.
