PARKERSBURG — “Willy Wonka Jr.,” performed by the youth in the Guild Builders at the Actors Guild of Parkersburg, opens at 7 p.m. today at the playhouse on Market Street.
Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. today, Saturday, March 7, 8, 14 and 15 with matinees scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Sunday and March 9 and 16.

The musical is a stage adaptation of Roald Dahl’s “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” and is about how Charlie Bucket gets a rare golden ticket in a candy bar, one of five, for a tour of the chocolate factory by Willy Wonka and the Oompa-Loompas. Charlie’s honesty and humility help him be the true winner of Wonka’s ultimate prize.
