As students finish the school year, the hard work continues into the summer as they continue to work on their Supervised Agricultural Experiences throughout the year. At the annual Ohio FFA Convention, 40 students traveled to Columbus for an experience of speakers, awards, and expo center.
During the annual Ohio FFA Convention we watched State Proficiency Finalist, Launa Ireland, in the area of Equine Science Entrepreneurship, earning a 2nd place on stage. Abigail Murphy placed 1st in the state in the area of Beef Production – Placement – State Champion! Launa Ireland was also recognized as a State Finalist as a Star over Ohio in the area of Agribusiness.
Our chapter had three chapter officers receive gold ratings at the State Level and walk across the stage. Congratulations to members: Emma Sutton — Reporter, Grant Gilliland — Treasurer, and Libby Swaney — Secretary.

Four of our members received their awards for placing 1st in the entire state by taking the Greenhand Quiz – STATE CHAMPIONS!
Warren had 10 State FFA Degree recipients walk across the stage as a result of their hard work, a record. The State Degree requires 25 hours of community service, $2,500 earned and invested in a Supervised Agricultural Experience, and eight FFA activities above the chapter level. Congratulations to Ryace Boyer, Hunter Powell, BreAnn Dye, Dustin Vandine, Abigail Murphy, Libby Swaney, Kiera Yoak, Madelynn Stanley-Lang, Grant Gilliland, and Blaine Eskridge. We ended the convention with Ryace Boyer being elected as an Ohio FFA State Officer – State Vice-President at Large! Ryace is the first State Officer in 20 years.
Our chapter competed in many Career Development Events (CDE) over the spring. Our school competed in the State Floriculture contest. Through the contest, team members placed classes of flowers, identified flowers, created floral designs, and completed fertilization calculations. The team placed 6th in the State! Students also competed in the district Agricultural Mechanics Contest and Outdoor Power contest. In the Agricultural Power and Diagnostics contest, our team placed 1st in the district out of 15 teams.
They then placed 12th in the STATE! Ryace Boyer was placed in the top 12 in the STATE for Extemporaneous public speaking!
Over spring break four students and Mr. Campbell traveled to California/Nevada to visit the Death Valley and Joshua Tree National Park. During the trip, students visited another FFA program in California and traveled hundreds of miles in California and Nevada.

We hosted our annual FFA banquet where we were able to recognize all of our members, community supporters and alumni through awards and recognition. It was great to host our banquet in person at school, we hosted over 380 members and guests. It has been a great school year and we are looking forward to a relaxing Summer!
