Marietta Police Reports
The Marietta Police Department released the following reports in February:
Feb. 4
– An officer stopped a black Chevrolet Suburban on South Sixth Street at Greene Street in reference to a traffic violation. The officer located stolen checks, IDs and debit cards in the vehicle. Further investigation was conducted.
– Detectives investigated the report of possible sexual exploitation of a developmentally disabled female.
– An officer responded to Walmart in reference to a man and woman reportedly shoplifting and fleeing in a vehicle. The pair are suspected in multiple theft incidents at Mid-Ohio Valley Walmarts.
– An officer was dispatched to 106 ½ Sacra Via in reference to a male with a knife threatening another male. Rayburn Bragg Buchanan, 49, was arrested on a charge of aggravated menacing and taken to the Washington County Jail.
Feb. 5
– An officer was dispatched to 701 Pike St. in reference to a theft report. The victim advised a friend from Columbus had brought a female associate known only as “Tink” to assist him in picking up a car. After staying the night in a hotel room together, the woman allegedly stole all his cash and slipped out.
– David W. Lowery, 39, was arrested on a charge of burglary (trespass in a habitation) and taken to the Washington County Jail. Officers responded to the 400 block of Jefferson Square in reference to a female reporting a male had walked into her home uninvited and was acting erratically. He fled prior to the officer’s arrival but was located by other officers.
Feb. 7
– A woman reported to police that the company she works for had been contacted by a man purporting to be a bank agent investigating fraudulent purchases, but it turned out the caller was not a bank agent.
– Emmanuel P. Arocho, 42, was arrested on two counts of domestic violence after reportedly assaulting two family members during a domestic disturbance.
– An officer stopped a red Mitsubishi in the 200 block of Front Street for a cracked windshield. The officer used his K-9 to perform a vehicle sniff, and the dog indicated on the driver’s door. Suspected methamphetamine was taken off the driver’s person and out of the door. The items were to be sent to the Bureau of Criminal Investigation for testing.
– David P. Hamilton, 43, was arrested on charges of operating a vehicle under the influence, driving under suspension and left of center following a traffic stop in the 400 block of Second Street. He was cited and released.
Feb. 10
– An officer was contacted by the Marietta High School principal in reference to a male student threatening a female teacher. Statements were obtained, and a summons for the charge of menacing was to be sent to Washington County Juvenile Court.
Feb. 11
– Officers responded to 218 Wyoming Road in reference to an unresponsive 39-year-old male. An investigation determined he had died of natural causes.
Feb. 14
– An officer was dispatched to Bridgeport Equipment at 15 Acme St. in reference to a report of the theft of a $22 shirt on Jan. 22. Security camera footage and statements were collected. The suspects were identified and summonses were to be issued.
Feb. 15
– David E. Powers was arrested on an active warrant and taken to the jail after a traffic stop in the 100 block of North Seventh Street.
Feb. 16
– An officer responded to Glendale Road in reference to a disturbance. Robbie L. Degarmore, 34, was arrested on a charge of domestic violence after an investigation determined he had thrown a medicine bottle at a female and struck her in the face. He was taken to the Washington County Jail.
– Serj A. Wahl, 21, was arrested on an OVI charge.
Feb. 17
– Chase C. Mayer, 29, was arrested on a charge of domestic violence and taken to the Washington County Jail after officers were dispatched to Lancaster Street in regard to a disturbance. A family member advised she had been assaulted by Mayer.
Feb. 19
– An officer served an active arrest warrant to Austin W. Wright, 25, while he was already incarcerated at the county jail.
– An officer responded to a Colegate Drive residence for a welfare check on a 64-year-old male. Due to exigent circumstances, forced entry was made and the male was located inside, deceased. The Washington County coroner responded, and the body was released to a funeral home. No foul play was suspected.
Feb. 20
– An officer conducted a traffic stop after a registration check revealed the owner had an active warrant. The driver was identified as Justin E. Robinson, 38, and the passenger as Jennah L. Robinson, 36, both of whom had active arrest warrants. They were taken to the county jail.
Feb. 21
– The Children’s Services Board advised an officer they had a report of a child being sexually assaulted by another child.
Feb. 22
– An officer was dispatched to 840 Second St. in reference to the possible theft of a debit card.
– An officer was dispatched to Walmart, 804 Pike St., in reference to a possible theft. No theft occurred, but Joshua R. Muntz, 36, was identified for allegedly concealing items in the store. Muntz was taken to the county jail on warrants for theft and breach of recognizance. It was later determined he also had a warrant out of West Virginia for a parole violation.
Feb. 23
– Matthew Wayne Rosier, 35, was arrested on an active warrant and taken to the Washington County Jail. He allegedly had in his possession four small plastic bags containing suspected drugs.
– Tara Larayne Fleming, 22, was charged with theft and released on a personal recognizance bond after allegedly underscanning $160 in merchandise at Walmart on Pike Street.
Feb. 24
– An officer was dispatched to Harmar Place in reference to a possible drug theft.
Feb. 25
– An officer was contacted by the Marietta Elementary principal in reference to a male student continuously being disruptive and bullying other students. He was spoken to on several occasions and continued to have behavior issues. The student was to be summoned into juvenile court for disorderly conduct.
Feb. 26
– An officer responded to South Seventh and Wayne streets in reference to a 7-year-old student reportedly striking a school bus driver in the face. The driver advised she was not injured.
Feb. 28
– Charles Edgar Henderhan, 61, was arrested on two counts of aggravated menacing and one count of using weapons while intoxicated after an officer was dispatched to the 1200 block of Greene Street in reference to a dispute between neighbors possibly involving a firearm. Investigation determined Henderhan walked out of his mother’s residence with a rifle and racked the slide while yelling at neighbors to stay out of his yard.
