Washington County Sheriff’s Reports
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports in January:
Dec. 30
– A deputy conducted a theft investigation into a sign being removed from a business. It was later determined the wind possibly moved the sign as it was found a short distance away. No crime occurred.
Jan. 3
– A deputy recovered marijuana and THC vape pens. These items have been set for disposal.
– Tresa M. Wolfe, Belpre, was arrested on a charge of domestic violence and taken to the Washington County Jail. A deputy had been dispatched to Dunham Township in reference to a report of a female causing problems. It was determined Wolfe, who made the call, had been involved in a verbal argument and kicked and pushed the victim to the ground.
Jan. 4
– Deputies and members of the Reno Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene of a deceased individual. No foul play is suspected.
Jan. 5
– Bradlee James Rea, 26, was arrested on a domestic violence charge and taken to the jail after a deputy was dispatched to Salem Township to a report of Rea being intoxicated and yelling at subjects to leave the residence. A physical altercation reportedly occurred between the caller and Rea in December.
Jan. 8
– Deputies responded along with the Dunham and Little Hocking Volunteer Fire Departments to a fire on Briggs Hill Road. The State Fire Marshal’s Office subsequently conducted an investigation.
– A deputy began an investigation into a financial scam. The victim lost approximately $1,700.
– A deputy and the New Matamoras squad responded to a report of a deceased individual.
– Two deputies and the Warren Volunteer Fire Department squad responded to a report of a male overdosing. Medical attention was given to the individual.
Jan. 10
– A deputy issued a citation to Erik Andrew Klintworth, Starlite Drive, Marietta, on a charge of driving under a financial responsibility suspension.
– A deputy was dispatched to Independence Township in regards to Karen Brunoni stating that Quinton Humphrey had just punched Augustine Brunoni in the face. The Brunonis advised they went to gather the rest of their belongings from a residence. Humphrey allegedly struck Augustine in the face, which ensued a tussle with all three parties outside. Contact was made with Humphrey, who stated the Brunonis came to the residence uninvited. He stated Karen Brunoni shoved a subject at that location against the wall and turned the main breaker off, as Augustine Brunoni began gathering items. Humphrey told them to leave, at which time Augustine allegedly approached him aggressively and Karen grabbed him by his hoodie, pulling him backwards and causing them to slip on the snow.
Humphrey denied throwing a direct punch towards Augustine but did admit a brief scuffle occurred. It was determined that disorderly conduct charges would be filed on all subjects, and they would be summoned into Marietta Municipal Court. The subjects are Quinton Michael Humphrey, 26, Karen S. Brunoni, 66, and Augustine Brunoni Jr., 44.
Jan. 11
– A deputy and the Oak Grove Volunteer Fire Department squad responded to Muskingum Township to the scene of a deceased individual.
– A sergeant and the Little Hocking Volunteer Fire Department Squad responded to the scene of a deceased individual.
– A lieutenant assisted the New Matamoras Police Department in reference to a burglary investigation in Grandview Township.
Jan. 12
– A sergeant was dispatched to investigate the theft of rims and tires valued at approximately $500 from Pennock Street in Waterford Township.
– A deputy was dispatched to an unruly juvenile/domestic violence incident.
– A deputy was dispatched to Waterford Township to a report of rims and tires being removed from a Jeep. The value of these items is approximately $1,000.
Jan. 14
– Landon Allen Lauer, 18, Macksburg, was charged with domestic violence and taken to the Washington County Jail after a deputy was dispatched to Adams Township in reference to a possible domestic dispute. The complainant stated that while attempting to get ready to leave for a meeting, Lauer was told he needed to get up and get ready. Lauer reportedly got very angry, walked out to the front porch and struck the house with a stick, causing damage to the siding. When questioned about that, Lauer allegedly replied by yelling derogatory words repeatedly., then shoved the complainant with two hands, causing her to fall into the door.
– Brittany Lane, 38, Vincent, was charged with domestic violence. A deputy was dispatched to Fairfield Township, where Lane was reported to have grabbed the complainant in the face, scratching him during an argument. Lane reportedly admitted to doing this.
Jan. 16
– A sergeant met with an individual who received text messages from Katrina S. Dutton, who had previously been advised to cease contact with the individual by the sheriff’s office on Oct. 16 and Nov. 13. A summons is being requested through Marietta Municipal Court for Dutton, 42, 3705 Cats Creek Road, Macksburg.
– Deputies responded to the Dollar General, 4530 State Route 339, Dunham Township, in an attempt to locate Matthew Kevin Root, who had two outstanding warrants for his arrest. Root, 39, 23796 Township Road 119, Coolville, was arrested and taken to the Washington County Jail. Inside the vehicle in which Root was seated, deputies observed multiple Stihl chainsaws, a Civil War era sword and drug paraphernalia in plain view inside. A search warrant was executed on Jan. 21 for the vehicle, and there were four Stihl chainsaws (valued over $7,500) and a Carhart cup holder found. These items were reported as stolen from a neighboring county on or about Jan. 14. Root was charged with receiving stolen property.
Jan. 17
– Deputies responded to the scene of a deceased subject in Barlow Township.
– A deputy began an investigation into a stolen check from Adams Township.
– A deputy began an investigation into a stolen license plate from Barlow Township.
– A deputy began an investigation in Belpre Township regarding a theft of money through a scam.
Jan. 18
– A deputy was dispatched to a potential domestic violence call on Oxbow Road, Dunham Township. Derek Miller stated there had been no physical altercation, however the victim reported that while sitting on the couch, Miller had kicked her foot, as well as attempting to kick her broken arm, however he missed. Derek Dwayne Miller, 45, Vincent, was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Jail charged with domestic violence.
Jan. 21
– A deputy began an investigation into damage done to a vehicle in Beverly.
– A deputy requested a summons be issued through Marietta Municipal Court on Ruben E. May, no age listed, 821 Cairns Run Road, Lowell, for animals at large. On Nov. 14, the deputy responded to Cairns Run Road, Salem Township, for an animal at large complaint. May’s sheep were reported to repeatedly run loose on neighboring property. The deputy issued May a verbal warning. On Jan. 9, the deputy received notification that May’s sheep were allegedly on neighboring property again.
