Washington State College of Ohio Alumni Bill McElfresh and Marshall University Alumni Karen Lines donated a gift to Washington State College of Ohio.

Due to school policy, the college said it was unable to release the details on what the gift is but said it would be based on their experiences in school and will assist students with scholarships, emergency assistance, food insecurity and transportation support.

McElfresh graduated from WSCO with a mechanical engineering degree in 1995. Even though Lines didn’t graduate from WSCO, she said in a press release that she decided to support the school because of its role in the region.

McElfresh said he made the donation to help the current students as a way to impact the future of the community.
