COLUMBUS — Gov. Mike DeWine will celebrate the opening of new rest areas in Belmont and Washington counties today at ribbon cuttings with the Ohio Department of Transportation and community leaders.
The governor’s transformative rest area project is an eight-year effort to enhance the safety, experience and accessibility for travelers in Ohio while sharing Ohio’s natural history, historic past and popular attractions.
DeWine and transportation department Assistant Director Mitch Blackford will be at the Interstate 77 northbound Rest Area at 1:30 p.m. between mile marker 3 and 4 in Washington County.
Earlier at 10:30 a.m. today, DeWine and Blackford will attend the ribbon cutting of the Belmont County I-70 westbound rest area between mile marker 210 and 211.
