Washington County Junior Fair announces 2025 royalty

The 2025 Washington County Junior Fair royalty competition was held on Monday, Aug. 11, by Ohio State University Extension at First Presbyterian Church in Marietta.

Five royalty candidates participated in an individual interview with three panel judges and a public speaking event.

Five youth were chosen for the junior fair royalty court to serve at the Washington County, Waterford Community and Barlow Independent Fairs.

The 2025 Washington County Jr. Fair Royalty includes:

¯ Queen Katelynn Valandingham, Churchtown Shining Stars Club and Waterford FFA. Parents are Amanda Valandingham and Dave Huck of Waterford and she is a senior at Waterford High School.

¯ Princess Leia Barnett, Palmer Lads & Lassies 4-H Club and Waterford FFA. Daughter of Samantha Tornes of Stockport and attends Waterford High School.

¯ Junior Princess Sydney Lang, Churchtown Shining Stars Club. Daughter of Keith and Megan Lang of Waterford and attends Waterford Elementary.

¯ King Parker Burris, Washington County Carteens 4-H Club and Fort Frye FFA. Son of Malisa Whiteley and Eric Burris.

A Whipple resident, he will be a senior at Fort Frye High School.

¯ Prince Maddock Hughes, Oak Grove Explorers 4-H Club. Son of Jenna and William Phillips and Evan and Heather Hughes.

A Marietta resident, he will be a sophomore at Marietta High School.
