LAURELVILLE — Glass artist Jack Pine will debut two new glass pumpkins as part of the sixth annual Glass Pumpkin Art Festival, scheduled for Sept. 19-21 at Pine’s Laurelville studio.
Each year, Pine and his team create a “Pumpkin of the Year,” which is typically tied to the festival’s theme. For 2025, the theme “Wicked” inspired the creation of two designs rather than one.
Pine said the theme reflects ideas of choices, duality, and perspective, and led him to design pumpkins inspired by Glinda, the Good Witch of the North, and Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West. The Glinda pumpkin features a rosy pink iridescent surface with golden accents and a pale pink stem, while the Elphaba pumpkin is deep emerald green with chartreuse swirls, topped with a black hat-shaped stem that transitions into lighter green.
During the three-day festival, visitors can view thousands of hand-blown glass pumpkins displayed in the Glass Pumpkin Patch on the 11-acre studio grounds. The event also includes an outdoor market with regional artists, food vendors, children’s activities, live music, and glassblowing demonstrations.
The festival will run from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is free. Advance VIP parking is available for $5 through GlassPumpkinFestival.com, which includes a coupon toward a pumpkin purchase; general parking on the day of the event will be $10 per car.
