Belpre municipal races unopposed in Nov. 4 election

BELPRE — All races for Belpre city government will be uncontested in the Nov. 4 general election, with most seats being sought by incumbents.

Only three candidates will be seeking new positions.

The unopposed incumbents running for re-election on Belpre City Council include: William Locke, 1st Ward; Richard Seebaugh, 2nd Ward; Lyndsay Dennis, 3rd Ward; John J. Ambrozy, 4th Ward; and Larry K. Martin, council president. All are Republicans.

Councilwoman Erica N. Campbell, a Republican, is running for city auditor. Campbell has served on council since January when she was appointed to fill an at-large vacancy due to a previous member’s resignation.

City Auditor Tina Nolan is running as a write-in candidate for city treasurer to replace Treasurer Jackie Cassady.

Republican William J. Cassady is running for an at-large seat on council. He is one of three candidates for the three open seats, along with incumbents David R. Ferguson and Penne Riffle, also Republicans.

Early voting for the general election begins Tuesday.

Starting at $2.99/week.
