City of Belpre to flush fire hydrants

BELPRE — The city of Belpre will begin flushing hydrants in the city’s Public Water System starting Monday from 8 a.m. to 12 a.m.
Hydrant flushing will begin:
Zone 1 – Monday – (Oct 6)
¯1100-1400 block of Putnam Howe Drive going north to railroad tracks covering Oaktree Lane, Ohio Avenue, Knotts Court, Roselawn Avenue, Moody Avenue, Putnam Place, Society Manner, and King Street.
¯Putnam Howe south to the north side of Washington Boulevard, Putnam Howe east to Campus Drive to Maple Street and from Maple Street going west to the intersection of Washington Boulevard (north side) and Putnam Howe Drive.
This area includes the high school. 200-600 block of Stone Road, 700 block and 1100 block of Third Street, 700-800 and 1100-1200 blocks of Fourth Street, 700-800 block of Fifth Street, 700 block of Sixth Street, Dana Drive, 200 to 600 blocks of Lee Street, Wyatt Lane, Lockwood Street, and Pride Court.
¯200-300 block of Elm Street and the 200 block of Walnut Street.
¯South side of Washington Boulevard. at Tuttle Street going east to the south side of Washington Boulevard. at Walnut Street and to the river.
This area covers all roads south of Washington Boulevard to the river between George Street Extension and Walnut Street to include areas south of Blennerhassett Avenue such as Scott Avenue, Parkersburg Avenue, and John Street.
Zone 2 – Tuesday – (Oct 7)
¯600 to 1200 blocks of Clement Avenue, north to Congress to Calder Ridge/Way Road intersection, going east covering everything from the north side of the railroad tracks/Bridge to the south side of SR7/US32 to the river.
This includes but not limited to Warren Avenue, Leonard Avenue, Pomeroy Pike, Depot Street, Wirt Street, Barclay Street, Elm Street, Walnut Street, Main Street (all Main Street and side streets), Florence Street (all of Florence Street and side streets), north on SR 7 to include first lane, ORION, Joe Skinner Road, Camelot Road, Ayers Boulevard and Skyline Steel.
Zone 3 – Wednesday – (Oct 8)
¯Starting at Franklin Avenue going west to Middle Street between the railroad tracks and SR 7. This area includes Hocking Road, Poplar Street, Boulevard Drive, Belrock Avenue, Rockland Avenue and all the side streets connecting to these roads. This area also includes the Belpre Elementary School and the Administration Building.
¯The city will also be flushing on the north side of SR 7 covering Braun Road including 1400-1900 blocks of Hill Street and all the side streets joining Hill Street, White Oak Street, Pine Street, and Cherry Tree Drive.
Zone 4 – (Oct 9)
¯Starting on Belrock Avenue on the south side of the railroad tracks and north of Putnam Howe Drive and Washington Boulevard, working west to Sycamore Street. From Sycamore Street, the city will be going from the south side of the railroad tracks to the river west to Farson Street and Penny Court.
¯The city will also be flushing from Middle Street to Farson on the north side of the tracks. This will also include the north side of the four-lane. This area includes 2100 to 2300 blocks of Hill Street, 2300-2400 block of Richmiller Avenue, 900 Mary Street, 700-1100 blocks of Farson Street, 2500 block of Bellview Street, 2500 block of Parkview Drive, and 2500 block of Valleyview Drive.
Zone 5 – (Oct 9)
¯Starting on the west side of Farson Street going west to Drag Strip Road (Twp Rd 97) to include Donna Drive, Mead Street, Victor Street, Underwood Drive, Thomas Court, Thomas Street, Julies Lane, Phillip Street, Riverview Drive, Frame Drive, Beach Drive, Circle Drive, and Drag Strip Road.
It the city runs into issues and can not finish a section on the night scheduled, it will start where it left off on the following day.
During the times of flushing, residents may notice pressure loss and discolored water. Anyone having discolored water should turn on the cold faucet, preferably in the bathtub, and let it run for five to 10 minutes or until the water clears up.
