Rockstar Wellness is hosting a fitness event called “Pound for Pink, Rock For a Cure” from 12 to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 12.

The event will support a cause-raising funds for the Jessica Huffman Women’s Cancer Fund at the Marietta Community Foundation

Rockstar Wellness is inviting the community to attend this event that offers a unique opportunity to highlight the intersection of fitness and philanthropy, showcasing how community driven events can make a tangible impact on critical health causes.

The event will include live music beginning at 12 p.m. from local band Division Street. Vendors will be onsite selling local craft items and Jeremiah’s Coffee House will be selling coffee and refreshments.

Those attending can also take the opportunity to enjoy lunch at two popular restaurants, The Pizza Place and Tampico’s. Rockstar Wellness will be accepting donations for items being sold at the bake sale.

The event will conclude with a high energy POUND fitness event. The Pound Rockout Workout combines cardio, Pilates and strength training with constant stimulated drumming, all to loud, energetic movement. “This event promises to be like no other with the energy brought from the live band, the local vendors and the POUND rockout workout with the live drummer,” said Rachel Burnham, founder and co-owner of Rockstar Wellness. “The Pound Rockout Workout is for all fitness levels and provides a high energy fitness experience that rocks through music and movement”.

The Jessica Huffman Women’s Cancer Fund at the Marietta Community Foundation is dedicated to supporting local women facing cancer and making them feel more like themselves and helping with things insurance does not cover. A cancer survivor herself, Huffman recognized the gaps in the system and areas of care that patients need as they battle cancer. The fund is intended to help women in the community being treated at WVU Medicine or the Cancer Center at Marietta Memorial Hospital.

Rockstar Wellness LLC is a family fitness facility that believes fitness should be fun.
