BELPRE — A New York man was arrested recently in Belpre on drug charges in a cooperative investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau and the Parkersburg Violent Crimes and Narcotics Task Force.

Cleveland Bedgood, 50, Lockport, N.Y., was charged with possession of drugs, trafficking drugs and tampering with evidence, according to a release from the task force.

On Thursday and Friday, the task force executed search warrants at two residences Bedgood was known to utilize in Wood County. Agents recovered more than 6 pounds of methamphetamine between the two locations, the release said.

Additional charges are forthcoming, the release said.

Bedgood remains in custody at the Washington County Jail on a $500,000 bond.
