Ohio State Highway Patrol Reports

– Bryce M. Lowry, 22, 1740 Chestnut Trail Dr., Twinsburg, Ohio, driving a 2000 Chevy S-10, owned by Angela D. Lowry, same address, was traveling northbound on Ohio 26 in Lawrence Township Oct. 15 when he went off the right side of the road, over-corrected, went off the left side of the road, struck an embankment and overturned. Lowry had suspected minor injuries but refused transport and was charged with failure to control.

– Willard R. Cunningham, 79, 300 W. State Road, Apt. H2, Athens, driving a 2021 Cadillac XTS, was traveling in Belpre Township Oct. 29 when he hit a deer that was attempting to cross the roadway. No injuries were reported and no charges were listed.

– Ronald K. Young, 67, 255 29th St., NW, Massillon, Ohio, driving a 2006 Volvo Truck VNM, owned by Premier Pallet and Recycling Inc., 11361 Laundell Road, SW, Navarre, Ohio, and Jacob M. Spiegel, 29, 67104 Pineview, Belmont, driving a 2022 Ford F-450, owned by U-Haul Co. of Arizona, 2727 N. Central Ave., Phoenix, Arizona, were both traveling northbound on Interstate 77 in Aurelius Township Oct. 31 in a construction zone and Spiegel was rear ended by Young. No injuries were reported and Young was charged with not maintaining assured clear distance.

– Riley M. Fouty, 21, 1491 Barnett Ridge Road, Belpre, driving a 2011 Subaru Impreza, owned by Zachary D. Fouty, same address, was traveling southbound on Ohio 7 in Marietta Township Oct. 31 when she was struck by Nelia D. Smarr, 4013 Powell St., Parkersburg, driving a 2024 Ford Edge, owned by Pioneer Ford Lincoln, 909 Pike St., Marietta, who failed to yield from a stop sign at the intersection of Township Road 1212 (Products Lane). Fouty had no reported injuries and Smarr had suspected minor injuries and was taken by Reno EMS to Marietta Memorial Hospital. Smarr was charged with failure to obey a stop sign.

– Miriam Coblentz, 69, 2666 State Route 550, Cutler, driving a 2012 unlisted car, owned by Paul R. Coblentz, same address, was traveling in Wesley Township Nov. 2 when she hit a deer that was attempting to cross the roadway. No injuries were reported and no charges were listed.
