PARKERSBURG — The 18-year-old Parkersburg man who is accused of shooting two people in south Parkersburg was arraigned Friday in Doddridge County on a charge of murder after one of the men succumbed to his injuries and passed away Thursday.
Butch Wayne Knight, 18, of Parkersburg, has been charged with one count of first-degree murder in addition to two counts of attempted murder, upgraded from his original charges of three counts of attempted murder, police said.
Parkersburg Chief Matthew Board said Thursday evening that Bradi Florence, a victim in the Monday shooting on Belmont Road, succumbed Thursday to the injuries he sustained in the incident.
Knight was arraigned in Doddridge County as a result of being at the North Central Regional Jail, the Wood County Prosecutor’s Office reported.
Wood County Prosecutor Pat Lefebure said Wood County court officials are expected to receive the paperwork in the case early next week and will have a preliminary hearing and a bond hearing here once the paperwork processes through.
